Don't buy the wireless gaming adapter! Here's how to make 1-

Hopefully this will be stickied....

For awhile now I've been looking for a way to make my PS2 wireless without spending $100+ for the Linksys Gaming Adapter. Well it's easy actually one way is to have a laptop with wireless....

Buy a CROSSOVER ethernet cable, I got mine at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart has it as well I think. Best buy is like $30 for it. Radio Shack is $10 but you can find it for cheaper.

Plug your PS2 to your laptop via the crossover ethernet cable (it's basically like the same cable but the wires inside are changed). Double click my network places. Click on view connections I beleive? Right-click on your wireless thing. In the advanced tab click on share internet connection click okay. Then you're all set!

There's actually a way to buy a wireless hub which is like 40 bucks and do the same thing, my friend mentioned it but I didn't ask.

So there you go!

Although this is a good solution to the problem with the wireless gaming. There is one thing that you should have added to the title.

YOU NEED A LAPTOP. I wasted my time just to find out that I needed a laptop. I apologize for sounding mad, but I really was hoping to make my Playstation2 wireless.

HAHA. You can still make your ps2 wireless though you jus need another 100$ to buy the linksys wireless gaming adapter.

you could theoretically buy a wireless reciever for your PC (no more then about 40 dollars) and do the same thing. (40 + 10 = 50 < 100). still much more convenient, but youd have to be able to reasonably stretch the cable to your ps2 (without running the wire through hallways and ****, unless you dont mind that.)

you need to do your research my terrorist friend... I actually bought my laptop that has wireless connections for $300. Even though it's 200 dollars more, you can still use the other features of the computer. I found it online a while ago...

This is the $300 laptop I got...
