So do you actually prefer it over your pistol if you see somebody rolling up on you? Or just when you don't have time to switch up?

Sorry, I've got no love for snipers. I'm sure many will have a swift retort on the topic, but honestly it's something that takes no skill at all to do. You're lining up a dot in the middle of your screen on the head of a person that doesn't know you're there and typically it'll take you one shot to kill a person. If you want to show your skill, come out and face me .

I ain't chickenshit, and you better be able to shoot me up close cuz I will kill you with a pistol. My deal is this time around the maps are so friggin huge you feel vulnerable sometimes without a sniper. I use the M8's because they have a larger scope range and the silenced lose even more range when suppressed.
But I don't snipe all the time. I pick a diff gun almost every round or other round for variety. It's what keeps the game interesting, like when i get 20+ kills with a 9mm sub, people tend to remember that. It's not about fame, either. It's about intimidation that your sweet little M4/IW/M16 was still no match.
Bottom line I just have a naturally good shot, so I tend to snipe more and the large maps accomodate that.

The silenced sniper rifles are much more still, and normally only take 2 shots to kill someone and fire quite fast.
 Weigh less
 Fire faster
 Can be silenced
 Kill in 2 hits
The silenced sniper rifles are better, that's why.

wow, and running around and putting your m16 crosshair on someones head when they dont know it takes no skill either, neither does throwing grenades, or pressing r1 for that matter, my point is that..well everything i said has no point, just making a "swift retort" anyways, sniping in s2 was much more challenging anyways, but i do agree, too many newb snipers, ESPECIALLY with SASR and SR

Oh, so lining up a moving crosshair with a moving head the size of a pea is so much easier than running up to someone and holding down the trigger. I agree completely.
If sniping is just soooo easy to get kills, then why don't you do it instead?
"Because it is for *****s that can't run up to people and hold down the trigger"
Well, they put sniper rifles in the game for a reason, so learn to live with them.

I think its funny how everyone who calls these "snipers" pu$$ies are the people who get schooled by them regularly.
The SR25 and the SASR are great weapons because of their versatility as opposed to the M87ELRs and such. Snipers need to be swift and stealthy on most of these maps in order to get kills and be successful; which the M87ELR does not always allow for. Personally, I think the M87ELR is more of a 'n00b' rifle because of the one-hit, one-kill aspect...but the thought of a .50 cal ripping someone apart is gruesome, I just wish they had animated that into the game--maybe people would use them more often.
The different weapon types in the game make for some great tactical strategies and situations, which allows for more variety in the gameplay, which makes the game more fun IMO. Instead of claiming that players have no skill because they snipe/camp, figure out ways of outsmarting fools.

I dont think everyone should be so quick to bash one kind of riffle over the other. Both the 50cals, and the semi-autos riffles have advantages and disadvantages. Depending on wich kind of scenario you're put up against, knowing what works best can really make a difference.
