I am a big "camper". I try to find the best spot on every map to lie down with whatever sniper rifle I think may be more beneficial.
SR-25/SASR
F-57/226
Claymore/PMM
Smoke
This is the layout of awaiting ambushes. Campers are more then just rampant on the Online version. They are neccesary. Think along the lines of:
Convoy:
Seals Need:
3 Ambush Team = 3 Snipers & 3 Go Men
4 Assault Teams = 4 Groups of 2 Go Men
2 Snipers Positioned At Key Points
Terrorists Need:
4 Vehicle Teams =
- 2 Convoy Trucks = 1 Driver with No Passenger
2 Mounted Vehicles = 1 Driver with 1 Gunner
3 Assault Teams = 3 Groups of 2 Go Men
1 Ambush Team = 1 Sniper & 1 Go Man
2 Snipers Positioned At Key Points
Either side you play on, this is the most
tactical may to play. Notice the word tactical. This is not the more practical way of doing it though. I have played many convoy games as Terrorists, as this is the harder mode to play as, just to test this version.
You need snipers/campers/ambush men to get the job done. Especially as it's a catch 22:
If you have 16 go men, going to complete one objective it won't work. The other teams snipers/campers/ambush men will take out a good fraction of them.
Anyway, just wanted to share this "camper's" story of how we are integral in playing SOCOM 3.
