Is it me or are the 3 round games counting lame. THis totally throws off the ranking system, since it is so much based on how many games you've won and lost etc. I'm basically saying you have a greater chance to have a high rank if you play 3 round games rather than if you have only player 11 round games, theres no way if you're both winning. If you play 15 3 round games in an hour and win them all, you will have a better rank then a guy that played 2 11 round games in an hour. Just lame to me, hopefully Zipper fixes this soon.
I'm not saying its rank up, I'm just saying that since the system is based on how many games you win it would give you a greater chance of winning more games with 3 game rounds than you would with normal games. If you don't see that you can win more games therefore having a higher rank by playing 3 round games you are blind. Its hard for someone that just plays 11 round games to be even close in rank to someone that plays a ton of 3 round games if they both win and are decent players.
Dude don't mean to burst your bubble but if you look at page 121 of the strategy guide you something that says Ranking Tips and it says and I quote.
Ranking Tips
Participate in full games: in the games where there are more players, there is a greater potential to earn more points.
Play in games that have multiple rounds: in games where more rounds are played, there is a multiplier applied to the player ratings. Competing in an eleven-round game will result in the greatest rating shift.
Winning against higher ranked players will result in a larger increase in your rating.

People seem to care more about thier rank than enjoying a really fun game. WHO CARES WHAT RANK YOU ARE? Just play the game and have fun. I see these silly people playing 3 rnd games that have 2 min (or something like that) rounds. What is the point? Someone explain this to me?
Yea I feel you about the rank and stuff. The reason why people play those small games is so that they can get over the 100 games or so you need to get into the enlisted ranks and kill/death really start counting. Its a way to get to the "REAL" ranks faster.
Most of my clan would rather play in 3 or 5 round games, and some of them do pretty good and are as good or better than i am. I however always play in full 11 round games. My ranking is under 100, theirs are all around 100,000. Think theres a difference?
well, when u play those 3 round games to rank up and lets say you get to 100 games, u still have to bring up your kill/death ratio and stuff, so, thats a shortcut to ensign, where u will be sitting with that pathetic yellow stripe for a long long time, because in the 3 round games u dont get very many kills usually, and thats no good

This isn't rank up you moron. Everyone needs to stop calling this way of playing rank up, you aren't glitching the game, you are playing legit games. Personally, I like smaller games with smaller rounds because it makes the game more fun for me, and I don't have to wait minutes before people die off.

It def. isnt ranking up, because your rating or position dosent go up. You just get the goofy names with how ever many games you play because its going by experience. Kind of like the longer you serve the higher up you are. Your rating and position actually go by how many kills/deaths/and games you have won.
I love the 3 round ranked games, and I'll tell you why:
Socom 3 is one big wet dream for all the chicken sh.t snipers out there. This results in people pitching a tent, getting the smores out and camping their as.ses off to avoid getting sniped by some clown in a ghillie suit with a silenced sr25/sasr and a thermal scope who thinks he's so bada.ss for being able to hit glowing red globs on his screen.
It's not that I get "owned" or that I "need to work on my skill", but I'm not John J. Rambo, and I do get killed in the games. Sitting there watching people laying in bushes for anywhere from 1-3 minutes is not the most enjoyable way to spend my free time. This usually means an 11 round game lasts anywhere from 20 minutes to literally 2 hours (Water Works, one big snipe-fest resulting in tie after tie after tie.).
So I look for those games titled "R^ FaSt!!!" and "Quick Maps, Quick Action" because at least in those games, snipers don't even have that much time to setup camp.
Once I get out of the enlisted ranks, I'll get in the real games. Until then, suck it.
I think people are upset about rank because they like havig some sort of status.A way to gauge themselves against other players and have a sense of accomplishment.I do agree that some people complain too much.I myself don't give a crap about rank at all.
Yeah, realistically you all are the fools who think rank means something. Wake up from your wet dream, it doesn't mean a thing...what do you do with yor rank...go around walmart and tell people your an ensign on socom?? Wow I'm sure the rest of the world is impressed...so until then $uck it and get a life.
