I dont know for sure but I believe that there probably will be special characters for names. I do know that my clan will be keeping names smaller than 7 characters and no special characters will be used. It is a total pain in the rear to try and figure out the special characters and with the new message format it just makes sense to keep things simple.
I wish they would add more alternate language charactars......Like some Russian, arabic and Japanese......that would really open up a whole new horizon for names and clans.
Why would special and alt characters matter? To invite people to your clan or friends list now, you just choose thier name while in a game, no typing required. Blind people could follow this and make a clan! Just stop complaining, you don't need to type people's names out anymore. Just choose and msg or invite. That simple.
