This is how many shots it takes

You know how in socom 2 it takes only 1 shot kill even in the leg.Now in socom 3 it will take you about 2 shots to kill some on 1 shot 1 kill if its a head shot.but in the body, legs, arms, shoulder 2 shots to kill.At the head it takes 1 shot. There you go

This is obviously in regards to Zipper taming down .50 cal weapons in Socom 3.

A lot of people seem to have their panties in a bunch over this, though I don't see it as a big deal.

Officially, Zipper spoke about this in regards to sniping. There has been no confirmation of an effect on the DE .50, but one could assume it will also apply to that as well.

Gunner...where are you getting this information? Have you played the full version of S3? No you haven't....that information is irrelevant.

*I'll find the link specifying what Zipper has added into the Killzone later*

He's talking about this:

Q: Will snipers be able to kill in one shot?

A: Yes and no. Headshots are still one shot kills, but for multiplayer even the most powerful sniper rifle will require two or more shots to the body in order to kill an enemy.

I don't know guys. As I watched Beta videos I seen a few guys take a few then drop. I also seen a guy get "Sniped" and he dropped from one hit. I also noticed you have two bars next to your name. One bar is for your life, the other is not visible untill you hit the water.

well see in real life a .50 can actually kill u if you get shot in the stomach once. that stuff blows up, rips a whole the size of the mon through you. then when compared to M40, you need round 2-3 body shots to kill. but if u think about it they made it fair.

the .50 guns are not as steady as the M40, maybe the 82, but the reload is horribly slow. then the 87 is fast reload but soooooo unsteady. so they made a gun steady, but weaker.

so i really hope they dont mess with the shots, maybe for assualt rifles, cuz i feel that stuff is a bit off. but otherwise i dont think there needs to be a change at all.

You're right. And Zipper said they're trying to it as "Real" as possible.

it is frigging real. i would like to shake the hand of a guy who was shot in the stomach or chest or close to it, with a .50 cal sniper rifle.

i would want his autograph, i mean damn, someone dies by getting shot int he stomach with a 9mm, maybe not right away, but soon enough.

yea... i liked how it was in socom 2 where if u shot the guy in the hands, feet, shoulder, it wouldnt kill them and youd need to shoot them again...but i dont think people should survive after getting shot in the chest in socom 3... :?
