A Worthy Opponent?

I was just thinking about this. What would happen if the U.S went to war against a country with another World-Power. Because obviously Iraq and Afghanistan, is no match for the U.S Military. What if they went to war against China. With all the new modern technology, what kind of outcome would it be?

Forget China, if the US went to war with Russia the world would be completely annihilated. China, perhaps, but they have so many people here that we could easily be infiltrated from the inside.

But remember that the economic collapse of Russia, has basically turned their army into a disorganized mess?

Not recently. Initally, yes the army was a lumbering giant with not brain, but it has been roped in slowly and shurely. However, even if it is a bit disorganized, even a disorganized army with more nukes than the US can cause mass destruction.

I dunno what you are talking about, the US is not winning the war in Iraq.

Iraq in the eyes of most other countries is "a conquered nation"

But if we wanted to we could blow them all to hell and no one could do anything but write 'strongly worded documents'.

I'd say probably extermination of human life, AKA the right thing to do :D . But really, If we went to war with China we'd get our asses handed to us. Especially the Navy, without carriers their backbone would be gone. The people might support the americans, because some are pissed about the gov't but they still have a population of over 1 billion. I don't think anyone would win in a super power vs super power war. Have you read 1984? It'd probably be more like that where direct war would be wasteful and accomplish nothing.

One on One, with no holds barred -----USA defeats the enemy...no matter who.

The chances of Super powers going head to head is pretty slim. There will always be allies.

A no holds barred match would most definately leave alot of the planet uninhabitalble (sp)

I think the U.S. would PWN China. Russia might have a chance but if we were getting handled we'd just drop an A-bomb. Plus we have more and stronger alies.

It doesnt matter who has stronger allies. Nobody would actually win. Both sides would be completely and utterly destroyed, along with all life on earth.
