Man I f--king love this band. This is the closest thing I will come to rap. Although, I'm not a big fan of their later stuff. The first album was what blew my mind.

I saw RATM play at the Tibetan Freedom Concert up in Wisconsin about 7 years back. AWESOME SHOW. It poured all morning, so the venue was slippery and muddy as all hell. When you weren't sliding down the hill on your belly, you were jumping through mounds of mud with tons of other schmucks just rocking out to Rage. But that was back in the "Evil Empire" days, back when all their stuff was on the radio 24/7. Good ol' times.

Offhand note: That concert also included Run-DMC (before dead-guy), Live, Beastie Boys, The Roots, and....and....crap, lucky I remembered that much

For the record, I've never liked them one bit. The singer needs to just STFU and the guitarist always struck me as a pompous a-hole. Yes they have some sweet angry tunes that are great for smashing someones head in until they just have a bruised spinal cord oozing out their shoulders, but they are way too politically motivated and arrogant for my tastes.

Just my opinion.
