Werd to that. I watched it and I have to say that the HUD one of the cable news stations had up was very interesting. It had everything from the speed of the spacecraft (topped out at 17000 mph) to the height above the earth in feet.

USA has always taken an interest, its not like this is anything new. This is a momentous occassion because it is the first shuttle launch after the disaster 2 years ago.
