Topic: Sniping
Information: I feel the snipers have more options now. There is a lot of open ground and a lot of detailed foliage. I cannot say about the ghillie suit since it isn't there for this map, but I am sure that will be fun to play with as well. I don't find sniping in Socom2 or Socom3 easy. Socom2 was fun but the lag made it hard. You had to lead the target like 20 ft sometimes.

Socom3 there is little to no lag online so it will be easier to hit the targets but there are still going to be points of the game in which sniping will be difficult.

Topic: Dates
Information: Beta was shipped in early August. The first beta kit arrived on the 2nd. I recieved mine on the 4th. August 9th, today, is the last day of arrivals. The beta period ends September 9th. So as you can see it was set to be exactly a month, but a few got here early.

The official release date has been set in stone for October 11th, 2005.

L1 is to toggle between primary and secondary weapons. L2 is now how you talk. circle now brings up your weapons menu. R2 now toggles thermal goggles on/off. The rest of the buttons are the same.
So, is this information true, is like taunting and stuff is the same?

Topic: Controls
Information: Well, the controls were released awhile ago. There are a few topics around here that would have them for you. L1 is indeed the only toggle button. L2 is basically circle now. Everything you did with circle you now do with L2. R1 is still fire and R2 toggles nightvision, not thermal. Circle is the weapons screen (the old R2). Start and select are the same. R3/L3 buttons and sticks are the same as well.
