Enowapi SEALs.

Was my first map and damn that map is fun. Still my fav map to this day. At first you might get more deaths then kills, but then later on you will get better and better. I think that map is just what you need.

It Teaches you these skills:

1. Dodge grenades
2. Quick reaction
3. Stealth
4. TEAM WORK
5. Accuracy (with all the grass in the way and stuff, you need to have dicent accuracy)

Anways that map helped me a whole lot.

PS: I think I spelled lotta words wrong...

Demolition tends to be somewhat even although more Seal oriented. Ruins, Night Stalker, and Bitter Jungle(nobody can tell with HORRIBLE lag) are more Seal advantage while Crossroads is even and Requiem is more terrorists. But the best way to get started is Crossroads and Fish Hook. They're easy levels to learn. Desert Glory has too many nades and it's a harder level to get used to.

Well if your wanting to get a good grasp of the game while still gaining some skill id say play Medley. This way you get to experience all the maps and can decide which ones you like the best and which ones you need more practice on.Also nothing against whoever said CAMP....but SCREW camping while learning the game at first, that is a bad habit to get in because you end up neglecting other areas of your game that could save your life if your new. Get good with your gunplay (up close and personal gunfights) and then the rest will come naturally. Also a very VERY IMPORTANT thing to do is watch some of the better guys on the team when you die. You can learn a helluva lot from just doing that.

Alot of folks tend to go to the "advantage" side to get their rank higher....(i.e.: ALWAYS playing Terrorists on Sujo, Entowapi, etc.) I always find it more challenging and fun to play seals on these maps....playing against a force with an advantage really builds your skills.....also, look at the top two or three players on your team......follow them and give them cover, learn from their actions.....make friends as soon as possible so you can find familiar folks to play with....they will teach you lots of things you would never know otherwise. Don't waste your time on players / clans with bad attitudes or who like to vote people out of rooms for no reason...they are plenty of nice folks online to play with.

Oh.....get used to whatever gun you use being called a "noob gun" and get ready to be accused of cheating/glitching ANY time you are having a good run!!! (Some people get really upset when they realize they are not god's gift to SOCOM....I enjoy helping them realize this.......SOCOM is nice in that even a noob can take out the MVP from time to time!)

FROST FIRE!!!
Wow that reminds me, i made a new name, and forgot how easy Lieutenants only was...i played just frostfire in there, bothe sides, and every game was 15 plus kill. I felt like God until i got into the lobby and saw all the chopsticks. Now that i regained my cookie, i kinda miss it , oh well, off to do the same in LT Commanders only

I liked playing fishook when I first started and now I can't find it...I looked in the East rooms but still could not find it. Is there a way to quickly find fishook? Sorry if I sound dumb! only been online for 2 days.

You can go to options and change your filters so that you only see Fish Hook games. Then you can try to use the autoplay feature, but sometimes it just messes up the game and you'll have to restart. If that happens, just keep joining games and you'll only see the Fish Hook games.

Crossroads is a great map to learn on. It was a little bit of everything you need to learn to be a well rounded player. From both sides you can learn to snipe, camp, rush, mine placement/avoidment and its great map to practice teamwork. It has everything you need, also its great to learn on because when you eventually join a clan and war, its usually the tiebreaker map, so thats another reason to be very familiar with it.
Also check in these forums i believe that is a section that has map layouts
