Enemy A.I. for Online Play

In the socom series thus far I have been very unimpressed by the A.I. in single player mode. The only difference to me between Ensign and Admirl was that the terrorists threw grenades, responded a lil quicker, and hid when they saw you. There was no tactic or organization...which seems odd when one is taking over a "hardened" terrorist compound.

In socom 3 I am hoping for drasticly improved A.I. For example:perimter patrols, maybe even dogs, sentry towers with spot lights, vehicle patrols complete with gunner...etc etc.A systematic defense would be great.Since socom is indeed a strategy game/3PS by nature it would be nice to have to think on single player mode.

Somethin I was just rolling around as an idea for online game play was this;everyone always ends up at some point practising tactics or whatev on team mates online...which sucks. It would be great if you could run some sort of simulator for your team...select the number of terrorists you wanna engage, their weapons, and the level of their A.I.,or even go so far as to give the terrorists specific objectives...like secure and hold the box room. Then a seal team could practise online together without hassle.Of course practise sessions should not affect rank.Gimme your thoughts guys.

A training simulater for online is a cool idea, but no computer can capture the non predictable game play of a human.

true

You are right,A.I. cannot capture the esence of the human mind...however it does provide a descent training tool.

I know in a Ghost Recon game for the PS2, you could play mini games. When selected, you would defend a small compound while the enemy tried to overrun you, and vise versa.

This would be an awesome addition to S3. I agree on single player. We need better AI!

I want 2 player online like on the xbox where you and a buddy can join one game and then the screen will split in two, that'd be great.

For the terrorist A.I., I don't really care since I don't play the offline missions much (I've had S2 for 2 years or so and haven't beaten it).

For the online sort of "training" mode, that sounds like a nice addition to the game.

In socom 3 the a.i. will be better, socom 2 is two years old, it's a.i. can't match up to todays.

I dont care much for the AI as S2 is and was all about the online play, so all I wanted for a difference in AI are smarter hostages.

Hostage1: LOOK A TERRORIST LETS RUN AWAY FROM OUR SEAL AND SAY HIE!!!!
Hostage2: MAYBE HE'LL GIVE US HIS GUNz!!!!!
Hostage3: I like men.
