The thing is , I am not too familiar with Stick Shift Transmission(Manual). Can you guys show me how to do some manuevers. I mean i know how to shift gears and im kinda trying to do the Downshifting but i don't quite understand it. So if you can post the techniques in a Step-by-Step format it would be great.
Downshifting is easy. First off, you want to get to know your vehicle tacometer limits in each gear at certain MPH. Go through each of your gears and remember the MPH you hit at the redline before you shift. Keep these numbers in mind becuase they will mean everything in smooth shifting. When you goto downshift into a certain gear, check at how fast you are going and the gear you should be shifting into. Anything withen 10 MPH of your redline limit, you should shift into. Now here's the tricky part. You need to rev your engine before releasing the cluth to keep your vehicle from hitting a sudden momentary hault from being too low in RPMs. Depending on your vehicle, you should rev withen 1,000 RPMs of your redline for a safe approximate shift, then release the cluth into that gear. As you learn your vehicle more and more you can rev the engine more accurately. If you are confused by now I will try to give you an example.

EX:
-- In 5th gear going 60mph.
-- Highest gear to shift into safely while keeping your RPMs up is 3rd.
-- Push in the clutch and as you switch gears, depress the accelerator to the RPM you need. (By time you get your shifter into 3rd gear your engine should be at the right RPMs and you can release the cluth for a smooth, quick shift.)

If it is just a small downshift (for climbing hills or a small boost in speed) you wont have to worry as much about the high RPMs because you are making a small shift into the next lowest gear. It is hard for me to explain but you will get the feel for your vehicle and master the technique in no time.

Once you get down your shifting pretty good, if you want a tip on how to shift even quicker, don't depress your cluth fully. Learn where the minimum limit is and push it to there when you shift. You save time in shifting gears which puts you back on the gas a fraction of a second quicker and we all know that each fraction of a second counts in racing.

Having a motorcycle as a first vehicle is a retarded idea. One, you don't know much of anything abuot driving and how other drivers act and react. Two, seeing as how you are only going to use it for speed, you might as well kiss your life goodbye. You are in a city and only go for speed and outrunning cops, good luck living through your 20's.

And just to let you know, trying to run from cops in the city is a retarded idea. You have no where to go first off, and second, cops outnumber you and the radio is a hell of a lost faster than your bike.

Wait, I take back you losing your life... You'll try running from the cops and they'll catch you and throw you in jail so you wont have to worry about dying in an accident.

in baltimore they got a problem w/dirt bikes, in the city. it's gotten so bad cuz the cops can't catch them, that whenever they see one of them, they just let'em go. big to-do in the news last summer. not that i'm encouraging anything or anyone, but a dirtbike can go places real motorcycles cant. if you wanna go crazy on a motorcycle just remember, 1 pothole in that highway that you dont see, or a little sand/gravel patch, your dead.

Pothole LMAO i laugh at those. In DR, I live in the country side type thing, and how do I get around, motorcycle and the road there is so ****ed up that it isnt even funny, and you can pull an easy 50-60 without busting ur ***

When i say bad road I mean HORRIBLE road, like you can even classify it has a road, rocks popping out the ground, uneven anything bad you can think of, its there on that road.

Anyway I can drive cars and motorcycles are easier to maintain and for the ease of getting around and parking, I could just pop it right in the middle of a couple of other cars, some drivers when they park have issues of leaving a good 4 ft in front of their car for no freaking reason

He is 14 he doesn't even know what its like to drive a car at 50mph with cars all around him. It is SIMPLE to drive anyone can do it. Its the other people on the road you have to watch out for and an inexperienced driver doesn't know how to react to situations.

Actually I know wat it feels like to drive that fast. I don't think you know but the road La Autopista in DR is where I drove that fast in a car though.

Oh, well nevermind about the whole cop thing. I'm sure the level of technology and speed of cop cars are not as high and advanced in the DR as they are here in the states. You can probably outrun the Po-Po's all day there then.
