Actually that is a microphone box clipped on to his shirt. His suit coat and shirt is his bullet proof vest. I know that suit coat and the shirt part for a fact and I am willing to bet that that is a microphone box.

I thought it was his spine the first time I saw it. It looks kind of like a severe hump.

To my knowledge kevlar/CRISAT(maybe CRISAT does though) vests don't have large bulges in the back. It probably is a microphone box.
