Exactly why they SHOULD ban the IP and delete the account. Make all that Rank^^ work pointless. Zipper can do it once a month if they choose, and erase all the rank^^s work. Then the rank^^ would have to call Comcast and get their IP changed, and then start a whole new account. Exactly. Nobody would waste a month of doing rank^^ just to get deleted.

Anyway the whole point of this post wasn't to complaing about cheating/glitching in general.. but with the Admirals.. it's so obvious they are cheating. Then they throw their names in your face every time you logon! Why?? I don't think it would take Zipper much effort to just look at the room their in, and delete every account in there. It would take like 5 minutes. Then all you'd have to do is look at the next 10, find their rankup rooms, and delete everyone again. You wouldn't erase anyone by accident, just the guys in rank^^ rooms. If a guys not in a rank^^ room, dont delete him - let him stay, just keep an eye on him.. and if a guy in the top 100 goes in a rank^^ room, I say delete them.

They should really just make it so if you create a Guidance Respawn, you get deleted.

I don't think it would take much effort at all.. but thats not really the point.. The point is that Zipper, in their neverending wisdom, decided to actually post the Top 10 Cheaters for everyone to see, and then give them a cool looking reward - the Admiral badge.. What does this say to average players? It says "Cheat to get your rank up" - and if you do it enough, Zipper will even put your name on the list of "best players"!! The more you cheat - the higher your rank goes, just look at the Admirals! OOh I want to be one, let me cheat all day. It makes no sense, and it makes no sense that Zipper does nothing about it.

All the proof you need that the ranking system is retarded is that simple list of 10 that you see every time you check rank! If thats not enough for you to say "Rank means nothing".. I don't know what will.

I don't think that Zipper had that in mind when they decided to have a rank for the top 10 people. It was just a rank for the "best" people on the game but then it turned into BS.

That #1 guy, jedi_killa.....he got his rank demoted from the Zipper guys (this happened like last week and it only lasted for a day). I saw his name right under mine when I was checking my stats in the Player Ranking. He sucks BIG TIME. He has like 446 kills, 980 deaths, 200 rounds won, 700 rounds lost (estimated).

Yeah but my whole point is "Why not fix it?". Since it obviously wasn't intended for the Top 10 Cheaters, why don't they do something? They erased everyones stats on September 9th, when they could have just erased all the rankups. Instead of continuing to fight it, it seems like they have given in? Thats so lame, letting the cheaters win - and it sends the completely wrong message. I know if I created rank system, and the top 10 Admiral spots were designated for the "truly best players in the game", I'd be a little bit annoyed that everyone on there cheated their way to the top. It makes the whole rank system pointless, and it contributes to and encourages cheating in hundreds of games a day.

I'd be happy to have the job of finding rank^^ rooms and deleting everyone in them! I'd even do it for free. People need to learn to play legit or not at all, Zipper has been too easy on people who quite honestly, are ruining their game! They let it happen in Socom 1, and instead of learning their lesson, I see it going down the same route in Socom 2.

That'd be a great job. Deleting all the fools that are Ranking^. Its pretty sad... :(

All it takes it just one guy to take care of a bunch of cheaters. One guy could get rid of all the top 10, go into Eseals and ban all the glitchers and continue for a while and leave quite an impact on people's attitudes towards cheating. I think that they're too worried about Socom 3 and ignoring Socom 2 and basically trying to fix what's wrong with Socom 2. At least that's what I hope they're doing.

i agree completely with al. it wouldn't be all that difficult for zipper to delete all the rank ups. but what do they do instead? delete everyone's stats, including all of us who played legit to earn our stats. all i know is that if we had to pay monthly or something to play socom 2 online, we might not be having this problem.

Why would Zipper care about an old product that everyone plays for free?

Socom 3 is on the way correct?

Then why would they put time, resources, and money all into Socom 2

Like Grey said, if we paid for it, they would feel obligated to help us in some way

I have become accustomed to thinking that anyone in the top 1000 basically suck and arent worth worrying about.

I dont really worry bout it. i spend most of my time on my butterstick rather than on my LTC. I find it far more fun to play in there because of all the other rank downs. they dont freak out about rank and cheaters cause they are just messing around.

I really dont see why there is so much anger and hostility towards those that rank up. Most people dont ever play any rounds with these guys do they? Not like theyre out there whoopin up on everyone AND taking the ranks by cheating... I understand that the principle behind your argument is sound but i dont see why you let it get to you as much as it apparently does. Ignoring the fact that these bi**tches cheat and think theyre important cause theyre the "top 10" socom names does nothing to damage your own integrity. Let it be and enjoy knowing that you could spank the top 1000 with ease :D

Okay, I'm not going to pretend that the Rank ^s don't get on my nerves, because they do. However, even if you choose to ignore them, it is impossible to ignore the fact that ZIPPER is neglecting us, the users of SOCOM 2. If you play online at all, you've been in a situation where you shot someone in the face three times, only to get gunned down by the guy who should be dead. The worst part about this is that it's fixable, through patches. But they couldn't care less about us. And they couldn't care less that one quarter of my deaths was from people in walls and boxes.
