In my own opinion, music really helps get you in the "zone" to play a game. In socom 2 the music was cool but when compaired it to music during Half Life 2 or Halo I found it to be lacking in intesity concidering the combat situation I was in. Also it would be cool if they had optional music to play during online play as well as cool music during single player missions. (Not loud enough to distract you from the noises goin on around your player)
What do you think?
I heard they also were able to get the sound effects from the actual places they research for the game. This is cool because it ads more realizm

i turn my music off ingame.in real war you dont have music blaring in the background so why have it in game? sure some may like but it detracts from realism and without it you can hear a pin drop when an enemy is near.but as you said just an opinion and others may think different.
and before some of you young whipper snappers start nameing when we used it as phsychological advantage it doesnt happen everytime and they just dont issue someone in a fire team a boom box to carry around to play music while your in regular gunfights...kk

For me hearing footsteps and listening to shots in the distance isn't that important. The music in the game helps me get into the mood of shooting ppl and doing it without hesitaion.
The ingame music helps me get crunk :D

So I believe once u start playing online you will be hooked on the drug that we socomers call So-crack. Its just that addictive. PSN name: Paul_MooneY Rollin w\ [DPG]
I like the music and all, but I will have to agree with LuFeng on this. I like hearing crap, makes the game more interesting. But most of the time when I'm in an intense game I will blast some heavy metal, like Disturbed, Slipknot, Powerman5000, etc. That really gets me going.
lol yeah listening to metal when playing socom 2 is great, but not as fun as you'd think. one day i was like "this game needs some good loud shooting music" so i cranked my rob zombie CD and started playing. i was so pumped and excited, i bolted down the left tunnel in fishhook armed with my AK-47, saw a guy, started screaming along with the music, firing wildly, but then i died and all the rush faded away. :( lol. its damn fun to play respawn with music though!!!!!!
And lol, lufeng, i think it was you who said they don't give real fireteams boomboxes to run around with? lol, if you watch farenheit 911 they actually talk about tank crews pumping metal music extremely loud while fighting in Iraq. LOL
