I am only 16 at the moment but when I get out of High School I plan on joining the Massachusetts State Police an I would also like to be a volunteer Fire Fighter on the side.
I also have a second plan like otter's I really want to fly helicopters but I don't really want to join the army, or airforce an be stuck there an getting a job flying helicopters outside of armed forces is slim pickings. :? -
Good plan, Mr Pan. You can also join the Coast Guard or Navy, and learn how to fly helo's. Get good grades, and join a OCS. Check with the different services, and see what the requirements are, for helo pilots. Then go for it! Once you get out, you can find a police force to join. -

I am looking into the Coast Guard but any armed services may give my mom a heart attack. I really really want to be a helicopter pilot an the two best jobs I can think of would be flying Life Flight (its an air ambulence for the really serious accidents an transporting people from hospitals) or State Police Helicopter where I can play with a really bright light :D -

Hello.
My name is Jonathan Brann. I'm 17 years old and I plan on joining up in the United States Air Force. I'm currently in JROTC at my high school and am enrolled in a flight school and will be recieving my pilot licence sometime this coming week. I was in CAP for 4 years before I moved to Orlando. I love flying and I love flying fast!
In ROTC, I'm the commander of the marksmanship team. I qualified for sniper status (aw yeah).
My family has a history of the Armed Forces, it's just something we do. As soon as I graduate, I will become a member of our family legend and of the greatest military in the world. Jonathan, I wish you luck! It seems like you're on the right path. -

That's awesome dude. I'm going to apply for the ROTC scholarship and join the Marines hopefully *crosses fingers*. That is so cool, way to pick a path in the armed forces serving you, your family and your country. Both my Dad and cousin were/are in the Air Force but I'm thinking that I want to go Marines just because if I can make it through that I can make it through anything. I'm probably going to stay in the military the rest of my life though. So moving from branch to branch is definatly an option as well. Good luck on your path and who knows maybe I'll see you in the air one day. :D -

I just like the fact of going into the Air Force, mainly because my grandfather (who was like a second father to me) was in the USAF during the Korean War. Who knows, maybe I'll be dropping bombs or pulling you out of the hot zone lol. Originally Posted by EyesofTexas HOLY *censored*, DID I JUST READ THAT RIGHT!!! G'day, I'm James (hence Jim) Dillon
Up until recently I was in the Royal Irish Regiment of the British Army, where I had been for the past four years, and did a little bit of peacekeeping in quite a few countries including afghanistan, then went for a walk to Basra in '03... whilst many soldiers were shot, few were hit, but I was hit no less than 4 times, because I am an idiot ( I got a few cool scars though) ... hung about in Iraq for a while, then home to NI for a long time
then some good shit happened and I got dumped into... a sort of daycare for the army because of downsizing of my regiment... I was on "leave", ocassionally intereupted with exercises with other european soldiers in their respective day cares..
Now I am doing Jump School with the paras and loving it... -

What the hell, Ill post my future plan as well.
I plan to join the (Canadian) Army Reserve when Im 16, while doing school. After go to medical school while still in the reserves. Ive told my parents and they said I can join. (Although my mom isnt too fond of the idea)
I was thinking about the AF, but I don't think I fit in. My mom's friend's son is in the AF and is a fighter pilot I think. He told me about it, life-style and all. Just didnt seem right to me.
As for any American fellas out there I did a little digging around and found out the commitment is one day a week, and one weekend a month. -
