A server layout for Socom III
We all know how big a pain the current servers can be, right? Well I am trying to come up with a server layout that will not only be very navigate through but to cut back on lag for all of us.

These are jsut the bulk of our current servers and servers that will be used normally. They have been around since S1 and are still good.

Next I have some Ideas for new and improved Clan servers. Each Clan Match server will be part of the clan ladder matches and will affect your clan's overall record in the clan standings.

The Clan Match Major servers will support Clan matches of 8v8, 7v7, 6v6, and 5v5. The Clan match minor servers will support Clan matches of 4v4, 3v3, and 2v2. This is sort of how halo 2 clan matches are and it is very organized for online competition. The skirmish servers are servers where clans can have wars with eachother outside of the clan ladder.

The Recruitment and practice servers are available to clans to practice together in unranked rooms and to recruit new members to their clan. The clan practice rooms will be clan locked and only available to one clan. The Recruitment rooms will only be available to one clan and registered members without any clan.

One more thing on servers, I have an idea for if any server drops to 25 people those people should be moved to a new server and that server brought down. This would help eliminate extra servers and keep everything organized. Additional servers will be brought up and when they are brought up they will remain up for like 4 hours. If they do not get more than 25 players after that time they will be shut down.
Please post your ideas on these new servers and any other servers you think would be cool to have.

Not bad, not sure what it'll accomplish, but I don't think having Clan Match Minor servers are needed for....also, what about INTL and/or some sort of other servers for International players (if we all have the same Universe)?

Hmm I guess we can add some INTL servers to the list. Clan Match Minor servers will be serperate from Clan Match Major. This way we can make finding matches mroe organized. It would be a seperate ranked ladder for each. My other plan was just to have and 8v8, 6v6, 4v4, 2v2 rooms but I didn't think about how 2v2 people would be in the same ladder as 8v8 people so I changed it. I just wanted to make a ingame clan rankind system, if anyway has ideas on that post it to my other thread on "Taking Clans to a whole new level?"

I'm in no way stating this is the best layout for the servers just an idea to make things more organized. I want everyone's ideas. The current servers arent perfect in anyway, just trying to get a few ideas out there. I did ask people to please post their ideas and I'm adding to the list and taking away as they come in. No need to be negative.

I think those are some good ideas about going for the Halo2 style clan servers and rankings because socom needs a dramatic change in the ranking due to rank up.

Crazy just thinks that the same issues in the first two socoms will be in the sequel. I hope you are wrong about that crazy, and I hope Zipper takes their sweet *** time dealing with all the bugs and glitches and what not. Anyway, lets try and get back on the topic discussion. :o

It's all good, bro. I forgot that Zipper said that Socom 2 was an expansion (so I misenterpreted you as well, lol). But what I meant by Hacom was the HA in Halo and COM in Socom....but yeah, it's cool. No hard feelings.
I already have enough of a pain going through the list and everything having to click on this and that. Why would I want to click on one extra item? I really dont think that the list has anything to do with the in-game lag.
