Will we need the hard drive for s-3

you cant save your mem card info for socom2 on the harddrive. it only can be used for the s2 downloadable content. you will still need your memory card in to operate it.

I beg to differ. It is entirely possible to save your socom info on the harddrive. If socom were to operate through playonline, which was the basis of my post, there would be no need for the memory card besides the network connections saved on the card. That is automatically done by Playonline anyway so it's not even really needed. Please don't post a flame on me unless you have hard evidence this will not work (which doesn't exist so shaddup) or have played through the playonline system.

You're basing your entire post on your personal knowledge of the HDD. All you know is that it was used to download the maps, which wasn't really needed they just wanted to promote the HDD to the non-roleplaying community.

i hope we dont have to use the hard-drive for socom2 maps... because i have the flat ps2 and that dont take the hard-drive

i dont kno if sum1 said tyhis but sony ps2 no longer supports the hard drive HDD so we will not need it for socom3. u can still play ff and s2 new maps but future games u wont need it. also the ps3 will not have a hardrive but a memory stick type thing.
