Installing new brushes with the GIMP

I downloaded a couple new brushes and I can't get them to show up in my brushes menu in the GIMP. Is there anything special that I have to do??
Also, If anyone has any good grunge brushes, I would appriciate if you could send them to me VIA AIM (address= VwPBass4) as my crappy Dell wont let me download anything.

You have to unzip the brushes into C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\brushes then go into the gimp and bring up the brush dialog and click the refresh button on the bottom right. It looks like 2 arrows in a circle

All that I can find online are .abr files, and the gimp uses .gbr files. Is there any way that I can change the .abr to .gbr and make the brushes work?

I don't know if there is a way to convert the brushes you have but here are some links that might be helpful.
A few places you can download gimp brushes...
http://www.liever.net/gbrushes.php
http://the.sunnyspot.org/gimp/brushes.html

Or you could make you own brushes.

Have you tried opening the .abr files in the gimp and saving them as .gbr? you may have to scale or adjust them in some way. I don't know if it will work but it may be worth a try.

EDIT:I found some better gimp brushes....If you have not found this yet yourself.
