Question about my surround sound

I'm sure someone here can answer this for me..

I have a kenwood receiver...Something has been going on today that I have seen once before, but it just kinda corrected itself, but today it has done it all day and will not stop

Now the problem...The speaker almost sounds like static, or very harsh sound coming from them...It gets really bad during loud parts of movies or games, such as nades blowing up in socom...When it happens a red indicator lights up on my reciever that says "CLIP". I've looked through my owners manual, and it mentions the clip indicator, but doesn't ever explain what "CLIP" is, and what makes this happen...I've checked all the speaker wires to make sure they are in good shape etc....Anyone have a clue what is going on with this??

Sorry if it doesn't make sense to you guys, but harsh/static is the best I can explain the sound...I can still hear what is going on, it just sounds distorted (SP?) and muffled...

Thanks in advance for any help..

Wow... this is beyond me.

Have you done a search on google.com? Or possibly tried the Company's site? (The URL should be on the front-inside cover or the back page)

Do one of these two and if you have to, send a E-Mail to the company via the website explaining the situation as best you can.

I can't help you with the problem, but I can help you find help for the problem :)

Thanks to both of you guys, but I have still not found anything out...I didn't post on those forums but I did do a search....Nothing to be found...I did find one thing about "CLIP" but all it said was "Are you clipping" LOL, and they was talking about car audio

After I posted this I shut down my receiver for about 2 hours..Turned it back on to play some socom and it worked fine...No clipping...

AL GIODONO (SP??) I'm sure that is spelled wrong...Seems to know alot about this tuff, maybe he will respond and give me some insight...

This just doesn't make sense...WTF is clip...

Is any wires with out the plastic covering touching each other? If it is then you would get static and squicks from your speakers. Or it could be a problem coming from you main sorce. Check your wires coming from your tv to the receiver.
