More Brutal?

Well I was reading a few posts and I noticed that we have some dissagreements about which sport is more brutal, Hockey or Football. So I decided to use this moment of bore-dumb (lol) and make a poll about.

Actually give some reasons to why ou think which is wich.

My vote, I Pick Hockey. The reason I say this;

Hockey players play about 4 games a week compared to the one a week of football (thats not inluding the "Bi-week")
Hockey players wear little or no padding (not including goalies, for obvious reasons), where football players are covered from head to toe.
Hockey players have a 2 pund puck (I think, dont know real weight) flying at their face/bodies at 80+mph, football players have a 1/2 pound ball of air.
There is normally 1-2 fights in a hockey game, so the players are always watching their and their teammates backs. I have yet to have seen a fight in football, thats not counting the fat lineman puching eachother.
When a hockeyplayer messes up, he HAS to work as hard as he can to go chase the guy. Most football players just stop and watch.

That is because Football is more of a contact sport.

I have played both sports and they wear about the same amount of padding.

The puck doesnt normaly fly at their face. football players have 250lb linebackers ready to tackle them. wide recievers have to worry about catching a ball blind and being punished by a safety running up right into them.

There are fights in football but they are actualy broken up. in hockey they are not. all of the blind hits take place of the lack of fights and you dont watch enough football to see any fights.

Football players do not stop and watch, they always chase them down. if a player just stops, they are normaly cut the next day.

Now, as you can see, i obviously voted for Football. as i previously said before, there are many blind shots and 250lb linebackers flying at you. the hits are always bigger. in hockey, it may be constent but most of the hits are little bumps into one another or just holding someone against the boards. I am not saying this because i like football more, i am saying this because this is how i see it.

Maybe in a girls league. But in my devision there are always Big hits. I play hockey and I guess I am voting on the fact that the league I play in is very rough. There are some big kids that play hockey. Hell I play this one team I swear the kid must of been 256 265 easy. oh well. He hit like a bull.

But I can see at times how football can be just as rough. But i still think hockey has it's edge.

It is football. Beacuse there is a lot more hitting in it. A lot of hard hits.

Well I myself have never played hockey but I do play football. I also play rugby. So IMO rugby is more "brutal" than football. I don't know which is more brutal between football and hockey but I don't think you could say either one is the most brutal sport.

Definately Football.

Like mob said, ever seen those o lineman, all they do is run and hit 350lb dlineman, and vice versa.

Runningback is the hardest player of football. These guys take hits eveyplay, usually are piled on.

If hockey was as brutal as football, thered only be one game a week

Sure, those fat *** lineman clock in at 300, but you actually think they can be flying at you at an easy 20 mph? Look at the largest players in hockey.

Take Pronger, for example. Easily 6'10, possibly 7'0. He weighs easily 250, and is flying around the ice like it's nothing.

Football's hits are all for show, rarely some gets hurt, and it's mostly because they landed on their leg weird, or some fat *** fell on it.

Football players don't need padding, the players they're being "hit" by are the same weight as them, so they don't need all the padding they have.

In hockey, you can be hit any second on the ice, you can be speared, high-sticked, anything.

To say hockey is a weaker sport than football is crazy.

Also, football players only play 16 games a year. Hockey teams will double that in a matter of two weeks.

Another fact, the football players aren't on the field the entire game.

You have your special teams this, your special teams that. Wait, here come the offense lines...

What about linebackers that weight in between 250 and 325lbs and can run nearly as fast as cornerbacks? (Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, LaVar Arrington, Derrick Brooks)

I would LOVE to see you take a hit from one of these guys. Football is all about hits. Hockey, as I said above, are little love taps and holds against the boards most of the time. You dont see too many hits or rough shots.

I would take on one of those fat asses any time. Just because they're fat, doesn't mean they can run fast.

Breath is right, when the ball goes down field, the linebackers (is that what they're called? I'd rather refer to them as a "fat ***") just stop and watch. They, by no means, chase the guy with the ball down.

Every game I've watched (and yes, I've seen a lot of games), the fat bodies (FMJ rules!) just shove each other, like even larger sumo fat bodies.

Hockey has love taps? What sort of hockey have you been watching?

Apparently, nothing serious.
