I hope you're not saying 4-7 goals per team...

Hockey and football get an average of the same goals scored per game, but we have football players dancing like it's a ballet.

Also, what I meant about the speacial team comment, was that when they're out there, it lasts maybe 20 seconds.

If you're thinking hockey isn't a contact sport, you're mistaken.

If the other team has the puck, get it, by all means.

You know, in one hockey game, a goalie by the name of Ed Belfore (BOOOOOO), was thrown out and suspended for kicking a player in the back on the leg with his skate (where there is no padding, what so ever).

What sparked it? The player was in his line of sight.

Don't be saying you're not voting biasedly, when you call hockey hits love taps.

I coudlve swornit was 82, but seeing how there isnt an NHL season, i think we'll call it zero. :P

Football is much rougher, that why they can only play 16 games.

It would be naive to say hockey isnt brutal, but I think NFL has it outdone by a hair.

I was saying that between both teams in both sports, only 4-7 goals/touchdowns are scored per game. In football, people do a victory dance. In hockey, the whole team on the ice skate around with one another throwing their arms in the air while a buzzer goes off for about 20 seconds.

and dont talk about random hits. EVERY sport has its moments. Warren Sapp cused out a coach on camera after a game. players have tackled or hit each other with their helmets off. Players have taken down a ref for hitting them with a flag by accident. As i said, ever sport has their moments. dont try and make one big thing in hockey seem bigger than anything from anyother sport.

in football some(and more) get hit every play which is an average of 45 sec. and in america and everywhere else, ppl like violence, gladiators to american gladiator, ufc, pro and amateur wrestling, and the most violent martial arts. if humans like violence and some people(otter claims hockey is) then why is it cancelled (NHL) this year? huh, huh. dats right, cuz it sucks!

I don't think an immature post like that deserves a response...

Anyway, football players play less games because they're whimps, not because it's too rough.

Still, everyone cheers when people score, so why must football players add in the dances?

Again I would have to disagree...(waht else is new) I really wish you could come and watch one of my games. Then you would change your mind.
I used to play hockey. I know how it is.

Hockey is the same way, just not all the dancing. when players are skating around cheering throwing their hands up and what not and taunting the other team, it is the exact same thing. When you score a touchdown it pumps up the TEAM and the CROWD. When a team can get that kind of motivation, it makes them STRIVE to do better and they get into the game. if everyone is just quiet and never says or does anything all game, that would be kind of boreing, dont you think so?

SO in other words what i am saying is... I am sorry that football can pump up their team and their home team crowd better?

Hockey is definitely a much more brutal sport. Football players may take more hits but hockey players get into actual(read: fist) fights all the time. (Brutal being defined as grossly ruthless or unfeeling) Football players are paid to knock each other around. If they don't they get fired. Hockey players don't get paid based on how many times they smash each other into a wall, they do it out of anger. This is why hockey is much more brutal than football.

Mob, football players cheer just the same as hockey players, but the ten minute solor dances are ridiculous.

Xa, you hit the nail on the head.

It doesn't matter if football players take more hits, usually, they just get dragged to the ground.
