I agree 110% of what otter said.
There's an old joke that proves hockey is just plain brutal.
"I once went to a fight, and a hockey game broke out."
I love that joke...
Just by that joke, you sense the brutallity (spelling?) of hockey.
In hockey, you go out on your shift, give it 110%, take a two minute break, and you're back out there.
The only reason for the brake- your teammates are out there.
In football, you could be sitting out for at least twenty minutes, minimum, and that's the offense and deffensive lines...

Now thats just stupidity. How hard is it to miss a giant yellow pole?

Nope, hard to see it when your eyes are turned towards the football going up to catch it or if you are looking at a linebacker about to tackle you so you can try and shake him.

I have been down on the "ice pool" it is not cold at all. Besides, when you are playing or active, your body heats up so even if it were cold, you wouldnt feel it. That is why you see a lot of linemen go into the cold with just their jersey like nothing is up :D

The linebackers are the fat asses, right?
If so, there's your answer for them standing the cold.
They're only out there for minutes at a time, taking 30 minute breaks, so I think it's the fat, not the activeness of them.

again, you show your stupidity in the knowledge of football...
Linebackers are built with muscle and take on average 7-10 minute breaks at a time. Teams do not normally hold the ball for 30 minutes at one time. if they do then that is a REALLY slow drive. some players are very active too playing on both offense or defense AND special teams.

You mean they play the whole game?
Now it's starting to sound like hockey...

Hockey players get whatever time they are off the ice to rest and 15minute intermissions.
In football in between quarters 1 & 3 is only a 5 minute break and a 15-25 minute break for halftime and what ever time they are on the bench. its about even for play time.
And you cant say that hosckey players are constantly active and football players arnt... most of the time you dont see Line-4 hit the ice but one or two times a period.

When you total up the number of games played
(*cough* 72 *cough*), it's a hell of a lot more time than in football.
Also, the special teams are on once in a blue moon.
I've been wondering this for a long time...
Why the hell do football players dance when they score? Seriously, you don't see hockey players dancing, and in hockey, it's harder to score.
Also, why do they slap each others asses? That one's had me clueless for a long time...

Have you ever once stopped to think that there is a reason behind it? Maybe that football is more of a BRUTAL sport. More people get injured in football than hockey. players are constantly hit ALL of the time, not just bumped into the boards.

You are really making yourself sound like a n00b here... Special Teams are out all of the time (kick-offs, punts, field goals)

Ok, lets look at this one together... Hockey scores about an average of 4-7 goals per game correct?(about) ok, now look at football... in a AVERAGE football game, there are only 4-7 TDs scored from both teams combined...
kinda gives you something to think about before you try to post again doesnt it? :lol; get your facts straight first :P

Well, if you are on the first or second line than more than likely you will be filling in those three spots if you are good. not all players fill those spots though, only certain players qualified correct? same with football, certain players most qualified play specific Special Teams positions...
These two seem kind of neck and neck right now. (If you look at it in a UN-biased manner)
