Maybe some of you are retarded, I said state problems no bith about "It isn't well thought" or "Make better title" Well to amek you morons happy, Here's a better one.. Now unless your illiterate you won't post unless your contributing..
1) Lag.
Problems like the INCREDIBLE lag in a game full of broadband players. This problem could be caused by the host, and is the least of changeable problems.
2) Hit detection.
This is a VERY bad problem. I would like to see a human get shot in the side with a 12 gauge, and then get up, and kill someone else as if they are not injured. I have seen head shots result in nothing. I have emptied 50+ rounds into people that manage to just turn around and shoot once and kill me, or whoever is shooting. This is a 1-shot, 1-kill game; this isn’t supposed to be Quake.
3) Cheat/Glitch Paranoia.
Sony/Zipper is SO paranoid about cheaters/glitchers that they have RUINED the game with patches that modify the game.
a) Now when someone dies in a doorway, you can’t walk through it, because their body blocks you.
b) You will get stuck on boxes, poles, trashcans, and any other object while walking. Resulting in you getting shot, because you are stuck.
c) Gun operations and stats changed. We would like for the weapons to not change. The programmers are aware of glitches that involved switching weapons at times, on order to cheat, or gain weapons/vision you normally could not have. The problem is, now you can’t change weapons in intense situations where you need to. I.E. Zoomed in with scoped weapon, you hear footsteps near you, so you need to pull out your secondary gun with L2, but it will NOT let you now.
d) Clipping.
Because Sony wanted to stop the "T-Bone" glitch, they modified the clipping for all players in the game. The problem is, this ruined functions in the game. You can’t lean near a wall. Throwing frags sometimes doesn’t work, and reloading sometimes doesn’t work. The main problem with this is not being able to move in an area, when someone dies there. Like doorways, or small hallways. MAJOR PROBLEM!
e) Random name banning.
Just like it says. I myself have had names banned, and other people have as well. Sony is SO scared of cheat devices, that they have the server banning people. Sony has added a little bit of code that checks to see if your Socom2 disc was started from a Hard Reset, or Soft Reset. A Hard Reset is when your power is off, and a soft reset is when a program like gameshark tells you to put the disc in and hit start to load. The problem is, many people use USB memory cards, and the larger expansion memory cards. These memory cards force you to start by loading the memory card disc, to activate the card, and then loading your game. When you do this, you are met with, “You have been banned for using a cheat device.” Sony thinks they were all smart in using that function, but they didn't take into account that they were forcing people to download HUGE 2mb updates, so a lot of people got the larger memory cards. Now these people get banned for cheating, even though they were NOT cheating. What does Sony do to fix the problem? They tell you NOT to buy those memory cards, or they give you some BS about those memory cards not being supported. This must be stopped.
4) Icon/Function problem.
a) When you have to break an area, you have to get up to the break, select “plant C4” and hit “x”. The problem is, the icon to place the C4 does not come up most of the time. This leaves you VERY open to getting shot.
b) When you are trying to plant the bomb, it is almost impossible sometime to get the “plant bomb” icon to appear. This is a HUGE problem, and causes losses, when there should be wins.
5) Bomb problems.
As mentioned above, it is VERY hard to plant the bomb. It is very hard to get the icon to appear for it. It is also very hard to defuse the bomb. The icon will not come up.
Another problem is when you plant a bomb; you have a meter that shows you how long until you plant the bomb. It’s a gauge that fills as you hold “x” to plant the bomb. The problem is, when it’s done, it forces you to go through an animation of planting the bomb, where you normally get shot by someone because of it. If the meter fills up, the bomb should be planted. The animation should happen WHILE the meter is filling, not after. If you have to wait on the animation, then what is the point of the meter in the first place? FIX THIS!
6) No communication.
The microphones are an entire problem themselves. The system all in all is pretty good.
The amount of time you can talk should be a setting the host can change. Also, a full duplex option would be nice. Sometimes people need to talk for a while, to explain things. Sometimes, someone hijacks the microphone, and you need to take it back. Sometimes the microphone will just cut you off for no reason. If you reach the end of your talking time, the microphone will cut you off, and then not work again for a while. That needs to be fixed.
7) Little Things.
These are annoying things that would be nice, if they were fixed in this game, or in future releases.
a) The intro to the game itself will not let you bypass it, until AFTER it says Zipper, and Sony. I want to be able to hit a button, and go straight to the title screen. The intro might be nice the first time you play the game, but after that it becomes a time consuming annoyance.
b) The time it takes to log on. Because only 256 people can get into one server, it takes FOREVER to get into a game and play it. The other night, I started trying to log on at 8pm, and I did not get into a game, and start playing until 9:40 pm. I do not have that kind of time to waste.
c) Private games. There should be an option to enter in an I.P. address, and connect to a private game.

How to fix the problems.
a) Allow a Universe that doesn’t require the update patches. Give people a choice. This has been done to allow International players to play with everyone, but Sony only did this, after a method of connecting to other servers was found, by using your DNS settings on your internet connection settings. I would like for something to be done BEFORE someone “hacks” it.
b) Game play, not paranoia.
Be concerned with how the game plays, and not paranoia over if someone will cheat or not.
c) Players = Police.
Let the players be the police. If someone is cheating or glitching, the players will vote them out of the game. In general, most players are legit players, and will not tolerate cheating. Having a few people cheat will not ruin the game, however, changing the game code, and altering EVERYONES game play, does ruin the game. Now people can’t get past a dead body in a doorway, and they get shot, because they cannot fight or move. I would almost rather have that one cheater, then to have my personal game play messed up. In tournaments, they have refs who are spectators. If someone is cheating or glitching, they can see them, and will notify the players. We don't need you reprogramming the game every month, and making the game worse.
Summary:
EVERY player I have talked to online, says EVERYTIME there is an update, the game gets worse. This isn’t a game of skill anymore. It has turned into a game of luck. Whoever’s bullets work at that time is the lucky one. We as players would like the game to be fixed, but we want the REAL problems to be fixed. Problems like connection, hit detection, scoring, and rank. Not paranoia based “cheating” problems. We can police ourselves. The cheaters can have their cheating rooms, and the legit players will make sure they are not cheating in legit rooms. Don't force us to sit through intros that take our time. Use servers that go beyond 256 connections. It would be nice to see pings in the room. The most important thing is to give us a Universe that is the original game, with NO updates. You would be surprised to see how many people would play on that server.
