I am having trouble with red smoke deployment. I get fireteam and all hostages to zulu (star) and survive the countdown. Chopper says be there in 20 seconds. Fireteam says "shouldn't we deploy red smoke now sir?" and I can't deploy the smoke. My menu only gives me the choice of frag or bang. Do I have to kill the snipers to unlock the smoke or is there some specific placement or time to deploy smoke? ............also, a good ammo tip for this misson. if you come into armory with less than full ammo the m60 will only give you 1 mag of 100. Go pick up the assault rifle that has 3 mags of 30 then go exchange for m60 and you will get 2 mags of 100. Then go to far corner and there is a mag on floor that will give you 3 mags of 100 for the M60. This will come in handy on the roof...Now if I can just figure this red smoke problem out!
ummm... red smoke should be locked in your inventory. if it isnt, in your armory choose red smoke or if someone else has it, order them to deploy it.
Just what he said and I had the same problem but when you deploy the red smoke you MUST STAND IN THE SMOKE then the mission will end it took me a long time to figure this out.
lol i dont know when i was doing this mission on commander i got a little trick so it's the easyest mission if i can get in alright but anyways when i was finished we deployed the red smoke and all a sudden my hostage was gone and i had to restart the misson (killed jester)
I'm having the same problem. The red smoke is locked in my inventory at the start but when I get to the time to deploy it all I've got is frag & bang. Very frustrating! Any clues.
Have your idiot sidekick stay on the roof and order him the clear the area. That will take care of any snipers out there while you babysit the the 2 hostages. Of course have the other 2 morons on the top of the steps slaughtering all T's who rush the roof. This level is one of the easiest if you know how to order your team. You can beat it by personally not even killing anyone.
Hey I just started throwing red smoke all through the level and it seemed to unlock the problem. When I got to the roof it finally allowed me to deploy one for the extraction. Thanks for the hints.
when the pilot says hes gunna be there in 20 secs, dont deploy all of the red smoke. wait like 15 secs and deploy 2 of them. if u deploy all 6 red smoke grenades, its mission failure.
