Stop worrying about nationality. It makes no difference. Climate change is gonna kill all of us before Osama or Bush does. Read up on it, I'm sure you've already heard quotes that it's a bigger problem than terrorism. Yeah well nobody wants to face facts, think about it, or realize the truth until its too late. There's nothing we can do anyway, right? Maybe there is, if mankind as a whole was brave enough to face our biggest challenge. This won't happen though until it's already too late.

Forget politics, the Tsunami should remind everyone we are all human beings. You see, the earth is like a big top, spinning at a certain angle in space. You know what a top is right? It spins because it's perfectly balanced. For thousands of years, the earth has been spinning in space, balanced through nature. If it got off balance, its natural systems could reblance it easily. At the time, there was no civilization to worry about killing off. Humans and animals would die, but as a whole survive.

Now picture this: A top spinning.. the TOY, a top.. Glue a BB to the side of the top. It still spins, but it's a little off. Glue another one on, and try it again. Now again. Sooner or later, the tiny little BBs are going to throw off the balance of the top, it will get wobbly at first, then eventually won't spin at all. Picture doing the same thing with a basketball and some marbles, think of what would happen.

The earth is the same way. 100 years ago there was tons of frozen water at the north and south pole.. keeping the ball balanced. As it melts, it redistributes the weight throughout the ball.. (btw melting ice actually lowers the ocean, freezing makes water expand, melting makes it contract)

Eventually it gets to the point where the Earth's just not balanced any more, and the poles need to shift in order to keep that balance. Either the angle at which the earth spins will shift, or it will keep that angle but have tremendous consequences as weight is redistributed to match the angle.

Imagine having thousands of square miles pushed up 10 feet! Well, thats what the earthquake before the tsunami did. How much do you think that shifted the earths balance? Hasn't the earth's weather been crazy since then? We got rain all over the globe. Freezing where it should be warm, and warm where it should be freezing. Sooner or later the ish is gonna hit the fan. I'm not saying we are all dead, but I do think that the poles are shifting, warm places might become colder, colder places will become warmer.. and nature will change. Natural disastors will become more and more commonplace. Everything happening will be because the earth will be rebalancing itself. Even before the tsunami, we had the worst hurricane season ever. EVER. I think something like 30,000 people died in Europe's heat wave last year. Here in NJ I haven't even been wearing a jacket until the last 3 weeks, we were having 60 degree days in December!

I'm 26 and I remember being in elementary school almost 20 years ago, and hearing about how global warming and the environment need change or down the line it's all going to come to haunt us... Well I don't remember any huge changes being made.. but I remember learnign the environment needed help. What does this say?

It's all about that top spinning in space. Think about it, it's not hard to understand. I know most of you won't even read this whole thing, or read it and disregard it. The reason being you don't want to face the truth of the future. Live happy as long as you can right? But those of you who read this.. remember and think about it as the weather gets stranger and more out of control.

Technology is great until it kills you. I'd like you all to think of the modern world and how good we have it. But does it actually make people happier? I think I'd be just as happy living on a farm with a loving family and with no technology at all. In the end, it's all about family and love. Those are the true sources of happiness, not another car, or a bigger house, or a different job. Mankind wasn't meant to sit on his *** in an office all day, or have 1 hour commutes to work.

People are people wherever you go. They have needs, hopes, dreams... they have families, jobs, freinds. They are smart, stupid... rich, poor... interesting, boring... the list goes on. They are all basically the same at heart. That doesn't necessarily mean everyone has the same values. You CAN disagree with someones beliefs without being a racist (I don't think many in this forum would support Osama bin Ladin). But you ARE a racist if you label all muslims because of him. When someone says they dislike a group of people because of their nationality or race, whether it's the French, or the Canadians, or the muslims or blacks, IT'S RACISM folks. You have no argument, you have no excuse.

Essentially, I would call this aggravated assault. Personally, I haven't heard anyone say this, yet. I totally agree, anyone that would say this has no idea what they're talking about. I have held 2 state handgun carry permits. One thing you learn when you get certified in such a course is the moral responsibility that comes with choosing to carry a firearm for self defense. One of the more memorable quotes I heard in one of the courses was "if you pull a gun, it better come out smoking". Bluffing or presenting a gun as a "scare tactic" is brandishing a firearm in some states, and aggravated assault in others. Fact is, you plug somebody you're likely going to jail or at least be arrested until the details are worked out. Then you have the rest of your life to cope with killing someone.
Anyone who could sit in front of a video game and state they intend to "cap" somebody they can't even see is obviously seriously mentally impaired. My advice to anyone who receives such a threat is to immediately write down all of the details, call the police, and let them handle the issue. Sure, more than likely nothing will ever come out of it, but just imagine the look on some 15 yr old punk's face when 2 officers are knocking on the door with an arrest warrant.

I wouldn't go the extreme as to call the police, They'd end up laughing at me. I think our local PD is the most corrupt PD in the world, LOL..Personally, If you talk a big game over a video game, You're a sad pathetic waste of time and space..

I'm glad to see this thread turn from hate to love. I guess I won't need to finish my previous post as it would seem wholly out of place.

I'd like to thank AL for that insight on humanity, and also a bit of "down to earth" humanism. SMO48, thanks for the definition of racism, you definitely convey the point I've been trying to establish in a much cleaner, friendlier message.

All in all, I think this thread has changed for the better, and we should all be able to agree on that. :D

Well I have read all this post...I have seen how it has went from little jerks being retarded on socom, and trying to act tough, go from that to French, Americans, Canadians etc...are crap....To the World is a top spinning out of balance...I'm not going to go into much of these, just say a few things....

First alittle about me...Just so everyone knows I'm not a racist...I am white, I am american...I do have black people in my family by marriage, and my sister has adopted a baby from the marshal islands. One of my best friends is black, and another one is spanish that can barely speak english right now (He is trying) I have a black family that lives down the street from me, and their kids come over all the time to play with my kids..No big deal....

Now to the part that may sound racist...I don't like the way it always seems to be the white man that is considered the racist...Most of the time when you hear about something it envolves someone saying a white man did this or that.....In the city I live in, there is the black side of town, The mexican side of town, (LIttle Mexico is what it is getting known as) and then everyones side of town...The black side of town has only blacks, and whites are not welcome...Same as the mexican side of town...Both places have slums, and nice homes...Now if a white guy tries to buy a home in the black side of town he is going to be harrassed, probably get his windows broken out etc...yet the blacks don't see that as being racist, they see it as controlling their side of town...If a white guy goes to "Their side of town" more then likely he better not stop and go in a store to grab a drink or anything else...He better drive through and get back on his side of town...But on the other hand, we have black people, white people, mexican, asian etc....on the south side of the town, and everyone gets along fine...but you let a white kid go to school on the north side, he will get his butt kicked every day....No one else sees anything wrong with that???

Now I'll talk about this...My black friend...We both worked at the same place for awhile...We had to get the shop cleaned up for some big wigs...They asked him to clean the bathroom, I got the job of cleaning the bay area, and this nasty *** drain outside..I do my part..he does his...but then he tries to sue the company for being racist cause he was the only black guy to ever have to clean the toilet?? WTF...I didn't sue cause I was the only white guy to have to clean that nasty drain...I was up to my dang shoulder in nasty...Yeah I had a glove on, but he had a toilet brush..no big deal...I did my part and moved on, yet to him they was being racist towards him...Do I hold that against him? No...if that is the way he feels, that is his opinion....Just so you know he lost the case..

Now go to my wifes work...She is the manager at a salon..At one point of time there was an asian girl working there...She wasn't around long..Anyways a guy complained about his hair cut..They fixed it and moved on...Well as soon as the guy walks out this girl says "He didn't like it just cause I'm asian". OH Bull crap...Grow up.....You did a bad job..Doesn't matter if you was white, asian, mexican, black etc....you do a bad job people will complain...

Now go back up and read the paragraph I wrote about the different sides of town.....LOL...Wow the pot calling the kettle black huh?? They don't want me on that side of town cause I'm white!?!?!

I guess what I am trying to say with this book is, no matter what, there will be racism, and people will think they are treated different because of their race, but maybe they really aren't...Most people have some kind of hate happen towards them some time in their life because of race..Weather it is a black on white, a white on black, black on mexican etc...Once that happens people tend to start trying to catagorize (SP) everyone of that race with that one stupid person that wronged you..


Now back to racism on socom...It is stupid...Little punks just trying to act hard...Most of them probably go to school with people that are the same race they was talking crap about...Most of them probably play on the same team as someone of that race...Change cloths right next to them after practice...Give them high 5's after goals, slaps them on the butt after a good play...but once they are away from them and on a headset, the all of a sudden remember how tough they are and how much they hate all races besides their own....

Sorry for the book...Sorry if people think I am an ***....Just my opinions here..

I think you just don't know what you're saying now. By saying that,us, the Canadians are gay, the whole world will start hating the Americans more and more just because of you. That's a good example on how you think the Americans are the best in the world.

There is no reason to stop policing the world. There should be no place that does not respect the basic rights of human beings. It is when policing turns into meddling that it gets bad. For example, the US starts peace initiatives and such when countries start hostilities. This is all well and good except that they have to right to demand anything from another nation.

Taking the mentality of a liberal and allowing the people to live in fear? First of all, the mentality of a liberal is not to allow people to live in fear. I beg that you get your facts straight on political parties before posting.

How can you blame someone for 9/11 for that? People don't attack for such reasons. It goes beyond that. And his lack of interest in the world? Support that. Do you define interest in the world as making war?

I can say with all honesty that I live in the greatest nation on Earth. Now say that we don't have pride. Do you honestly beleive the French dislike you for being "a proud American"? It's the attitude you project with your "we're the best, we're the best" rants that make people dislike you, Americans and French alike. Don't think for even a minute that every single French citizen dislikes Americans; the majority of them don't care, and if they do care, they only dislike the ignorant Americans. But I'm sure most people can agree, including Americans, that they hate other ignorant Americans. And this goes for people of all nationalities. I hate ignorant Germans as much as ignorant Americans, not for their nationality, race, or color, but for their sheer < ignorance and stupidity.>

I only wish that more people, Americans especially, would understand this basic idea. And what do you expect from these other countries, while we're at it...
