I've been playing Socom II a lot recently. I stopped for a while, and a few months later, I decided to start over and get back into it. My rank right now is L. Commander. I'm not a tremendous player, but I think i'm decent. As to say that I have my good days and my bad days lol. I normally play in my rank's briefing rooms because I normally have a lot of fun in them and get to play people who are around my skills. But every once in a while I go to the US Easts/Wests and so on and normally have fun there also, because all ranks play in those rooms. But I noticed that rooms with higher ranks, (with all due respect to the great players ranked high, because a lot of you are cool AND great players) no matter who wins or loses, people are crying and moaning about using the "I-Dub" or whatever they say is the cause of there crying and dying, and it gets annoying... It seems to come up more a lot more now. Whenever some people get beat, all I hear is "Man can you use ANYTHING but the I-Dub?" And if they WIN they go, "Man you suck and you even use the I-Dub." It's like, whatever happened to "Good game" guys?

For example.. It's like whenever a gun gets popular,(especially with kills) the gun becomes the "noob cannon." I remember before everyone recommended the IW. Even higher ranks did. But NOW it's like a gun some "veterans" shouldn't use, because of the "noob cannon" label. It's like people can't except that they are losing anymore! They pick the easiest thing to blame and then they do it. Whether it's the IW or gernades, or ANYTHING

In reality, you can bring up ANYTHING and that reason will be just as legit as your "I-Dub" or whatever complaint you have.. I mean I see people camping and using mines when they are outsnumbering the other team by 2 people. Or throwing gernades when its 4 verses 7 and the group with 7 people are throwing the gernades! Or camping when it's one on one.. I get mad about that, but you won't see me stink up the lobby with my crying about how people play. If people are doing good the way they are playing, go for it! That just gives me another reason to stretegize more. That's why the game is so fun.

I have a question for all those who complain. Besides having fun, one of the main objects of the game (whether its demolition or escort) whenever you see an enemy, you KILL them. And the way people talk about the IW or any gun for that matter, it seems like they want you to pick a crappy gun and win with that. Why would I pick a crappy gun if I can pick a gun that I feel confortable with? I mean, if anything, I see people being killed by the M14 more than anything. (I'm just waiting until the M14 becomes the new "noob cannon".)

The fact is, it's all about arrogance. Higher ranks get beat by lower ranks, or just cocky players are beat by someone they believe isn't "worthy" and if their deaths are caused by a weapon that they are repeatedly getting killed by, it becomes the noob cannon. Or if they constantly lose from a strategy someone keeps using and SUCCEEDS, then the person using the strategy gets jumped on. You know what I think? Don't cry and moan about people using IDUBS, Gernades, certain strategies,, what you do is FIND OTHER STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME ALL OF THEM! THAT shows a great player.

In clan wars is usually...the only time I get pissed off (unless in a real game I'm going something like... 1-8 ) and if the whole seal team uses idubs, it makes me a little angry. I always do say GG at the end, because I usually do good...


Mostly people are bitching and yelling and moaning out of utter frustration...I for one, used to...but then when my mom came down and asked me some question, and I yelled at her...I realised it is just a game and I should chill the **** out lol...

I know what you mean apurityknot. because that happens to me all the time exspecially when i started the game. all i would here was why are you using the noob cannon you faggit and them cussing you out just for using it. it really gets on my nerves and that is why i quit playing for the longest time.

I mean i'm not even a noob to this game but i still use the m-203 (considered noob weapon) and i kill alot of people with that gun and people get reallly pissed off by it. But when i am using it and i don't kill anyone then they start calling me a ***** and saying that i suck, and these are peoplet hat have gotten the game like a week or two weeks ago and they really suck at it. it just chaps my *** when people say that the gun you are using is a great gun and does a great job at killng people is a ****** noob cannon.

it is a good thing that you wrote this thread so maybe people will know what they are actually saying and try to go back to the good game guys like it used to be.

but essentially this is true. all u have to do is kill him faster then ur enemy can kill u and its done.

LMFAO....OK I agree with most everything you said....But as far as throwing grenades when it is 4 vs 7, or camping 1-1...I think that is "Smart"....I don't care if there is one guy left against my 8, if I think he is camping in a room, or hiding behind a corner a nade is going his way...Just my opinion...

As far as people crying about weapons...That is alot of the reason my clan and I just lock a room and have fun...We don't care what weapons are used, just have fun.....We don't get the M79's and M203's or the rockets out very often, but sometimes we will if one team has some poeple get booted and are out numbered....Good post all in all....I just don't get the nades thing....

I can agree with the I-DUB thing, but when people are using the m-203, the're usually throwing grenades everywhere near the other team's spawn and get lucky if they can kill someone...

I don't have anything against the I-DUB, except when the hole seals team is using it. I even hate more when they pull out that gun just cuz the're loosing the game...

Maybe you are right, but still can't see why someone shouldn't throw them......Now I could understand getting upset if it was 4 vs 7 and the 7 was using M79's or 203's....LMFAO that could be upsetting...Anyways just my opinion...

Personally, I prefer to complain about lag or the telephone ringing. Face it...complaining helps everyone feel a little better about themselves. We all do it whether you want to admit it or not. It does not stop at the game either. When some of you grow older, you will see that there is complaining everywhere. Especially the workplace. It's just a fact of life. If I feel that people are just taking it a little overboard, I will just take off my headset while in the lobby. It's that easy. You ultimately have control over how much you hear.

Now, about playing with a gun that you feel comfortable with...Yeah, that is fun for a while. I used the IW for a long time because it was comfortable and easy to get a lot of kills. When its popularity started to create easy complaints, I realized that it really was too easy to use. I started using the HK55SD and now feel so much better about my gameplay when I frag someone than I did before.

Last but not least, this is the millionth post on the subject of "people should quit complaining". Searching comes in handy every once in a while.

I can't not agree with what you just said, fragging someone with the IW and fragging someone with the HK5 its not the same thing. You must be more proud of you with a gun who need much skills than the IW...

I don't want to complain, but I think the IW was made for newbs (i mean people who just started playing) who don't have many skills at the beginning...
