Teach me to send messages while playing using keyboard
can someone please tell me how to successfully send messages to others using a keyboard while i'm playing socom II online??? during the game if i type on the keyboard it shows a black bar containing the text i type in, but i dont know how to send it successfully. can someone please help me figure out how to send it successfully? and pressing "Enter" doesn't work
Just so your not confused you dont put quotes around the guys name. Also to send a message to someone who has two words in their name there is a different way to do it.( it might be quotes i forget)
To re-confuse you, you do put quotation marks around the name if there is a space.
For example, to say hi to your clan mates JohnDoe and John Doe, you would type:
/w JohnDoe Hi.
after that, you would type:
/w "John Doe" Hi.
p.s. You can only message people who are not in the game you are playing.

I wish the messgae system would be easier like any other game. Press enter to bring up a box, type ur msg normally, then it would appear on the socom pop up box right above, in that case, the ppl who dont have headset can still communicate with those who have. It would also be separated so u can type a msg to ur team or to everybody.

I agree, they should have made it easier to use the keyboard in-game. I suppose that with the headset capability, it seemed unimportant. I resent the fact that you can't send messages to your team with it, and although I understand why you can't taunt the other team with it, that would be cool too. I would make up retorts to their taunts. I would also tell them random stuff just to make them wonder why I have so many taunts .

Yes you can send a message to someone who is in the same game with you but they have to be either on your side and you both have to be dead or alive, or they have to be spectating and they can not send you a message back.
