Dakilla, the 1st Amendment may allow certain things as to get rid of medals, but this is aside from the point. Whether or not people agree with our decision for Vietnam, it is wrong to turn your backs on your feloow soldiers, lie about acts they never committed, and curse the United States, WHILE upholding the ways of communist Vietnam.
Would you really want a man who spoke AGANIST the U.S. 35 years ago, to be Commander and Chief today?

I was always against invading Iraq, from Day 1, and I have people that will vouche for that. And, on another note, I am an American citizen, talking about the Chancellor of Germany doesn't effect me what-so-ever.
How is the First Amendment something different? The country's government is based on this peice of paper called the Constitution, it has everything to do with it. You has the freedom, which you also expect, to do as he pleases. He was in no way violating any laws, and was, therefore, acting in perfect reason. Personally, I would have probably done the same.
Do I want Kerry in office? No. I would rather gouge my own eyes out before voting for Kerry, he's almost identical to Bush, whom I absolutely hate. I would vote for a third party, if anything.

I agree that it was fine for Kerry to do as he did, by throwing away his medals. It was not a GOOD thing to do, as it demoralizes Americans, and lowers their morale. I differ from you and many others, saying that he turned his back on our men in uniform.
I didnt mean to sound jerkish from the statement about Schroeder, but I never liked that man.
Dakilla, answer me this: Why are you opposed to our involvement in Iraq? Did you know that 80% of terrorism is dealt with and run in Iraq? Did you know that Saddam killed 4,000 of his own people? Osama Bin LADEN is in Iraq? The list goes one. Please tell me why you are opposed, and why you think we should've left Iraq alone.
I know you're busy, but if you can, please tell me why you don't like Bush.
Do you want a leader who lowers the morale of his citizens?

these wars are about taking out a threat before it becomes an even bigger threat. In vietnam the threat was communism spreading and eventually overpowering the U.S. simply because we have differnt views
iraq is the same but it started off with terrorist who freakin killed americans (world trade canter)and then we realized that there was an threat that had to be taken care of at that time. as for kerry turning his back on fellow soldiers that is something you NEVER do those guys are your life you live when they live ,they control your life, your a team you just dont do that..
but when soldiers come back from Iraq we must not do what we did to soldiers coming back from Vietnam it doesnt matter if you support the war in iraq but you must, must must support the soldiers because it is not their choice they simply have orders told to them.

Ok this is my last post before I go to sleep...
I don't see how throwing away medals demoralizing Americans. Surely he meant it as a sign of deffiance, not as a sign of hatred. He wanted to convince the Government that he was right, and that they were wrong, which is the basis for all forms of protest. I support everyone's right to protest just as much as I support your right to say what you want about Bush and Kerry.
Do you really think 80% of terrorism is out of Iraq? Did you know that a good percentage of past "attacks", and other hate crimes within the US, are commited by US citizens? Does that mean that all Americans are criminals? I doubt you mean to tell me they are. What we are doing in Iraq, you may not have unbiased media where you are in the US, is totally absurd. Americans are dying for a worthless cause. Most interviews done with Iraqi citizens show that they want the Americans out of their country, so they can stop living in fear of more fighting.
Once again, I don't like Kerry much more than I like Bush, but to me, I would have to choose the lesser of two evils. What you don't seem to understand is that there are more than two candidates. Everyone assumes they have to vote for one of two people. You're wrong!

Ok, you went in their to get some oil, I mean find these weapons of mass destruction. Well good job, found nothing. You have Saddam....and still havn't found Bin Laden, why can't you just leave Iraq alone? Just killing for nonsense....your soldiers are dying for a cause thats already done....unless of course you're going by the "there are weapons of mass destruction here" ********.
Also, if you invaded Iraq also because Bin Laden could've potentially been there, he could potentially be anywhere.....why not just invade the whole world?

Like otter said we should invade the whole world. J/K Our best bet is to turn Iraq into glass. Iraq breeds terroists. It is a known fact and threat. That is the reason we can not leave them alone. It is a shame the only a select few countries do not support the war on Terroism.
Would everyone said the same thing if we invaded N. Korea? There are obvious threats that will have to be deaalt with one by one.
