Search
You must be pretty dumb if you think you are the only person to have this problem before, much less want to start a conversation about it.

Having said that...

Wand3rer,

what is the point of trolling. It takes more time to rant about the search button, which face it, if people don't know to use it by now they never will. Just simply answer the question or say nothing.

Steve,
there is no toggle to turn off the l3 r3 buttons completely. Though if it is that important to you go to E-Bay and buy a modified controller. Search on e-bay for "Socom2 Controller"

yeah, you can buy a mod controller, but that's just too much money. The best way is just to keep it on the stats screen, the screen is kind of see through anyways. Over time, you'll adapt to no pushing the L3 button. Good Luck, see you online!

I think he might mean when you accidently press it...

All you really need to do...is calm down while in a firefight...I and a lot of other people used to have this problem too, all I did was calm down and I have NEVER switched firing modes in the middle of a game/firefight accideently. Sure I've overpushed and went from burst to semi, but not accidently.

You can get mad all you want at the game and yell and curse and be generally.... "not calm" all you want, but when you see the enemy, just take a deep breath and shoot

I paid $10 for a PC CDROM that shows you how to do your own controller, I have done many for friends and it is a huge help, I just have never figured out why Sony would not make a legitimate controller just for Socom, They would make millions, So many people complain about the setup and the L3 button, I have also done many for my clan.

I had the same problem and tried to relax. I even resorted to Zen meditations and nothing worked. I recommend just buying the modified controller. Yes it is gonna cost about 50 bucks but it good because

1) the controller cost 30 bucks so the parts and labor actually cost around 20 bucks. Sure you can do the modification yourself if you have half a brain but if you should screw up in anyway, now you're out a controller.

2) you will NEVER have the accidental presses anymore. After smashing a second controller in just under a week, I decided the modified controller would actually be an investment! I also got one of the first ones made and it ran me like 70 bucks.

3) if you play the game often, do you really want to get mad in every other firefight? The game has plenty of issues to cause us unneeded heartache all the time. Why not fix a problem yourself if given the opportunity.

Just my opinion

Here's a link to a site thats been around for awhile.
