When do people need cover ?

i always give when teammates running from place to place. So they hopefully wont get shot. But is cover always needed? When do you guys need cover ?

Usually like you said, when a teamate is traveling from one place to another and is traveling throough an area where you know or think there is an enemy. I would'nt when you know the is a sniper because he will probably shot you no problem if your standing still opposed to your teamate running, even if your shooting at him.

Cover is critical. What else can you say? It's the only thing that blocks bullets.

no i think he meant cover as in firing his gun to divert the attention of the enemy from his friends who are in th open!

Dunno which cover you mean, you running and shooting places, you throwin smoke, you throwin grenades where enemy might be able to shoot him etc etc.

Maybe if they have the bomb, and they are running across an open spot, do any of the above.

You can't cover someone in that sense, unless you run into their crosshair and they think they can hit you instead of someone else.

Well I'd rather have a chance of the enemy staying in cover if your shooting at his direction than letting him kill my teammate.I wouldn't come out of cover if I were being shot at unless I knew for sure I got him.

Oh yeah well covering your teammates is essential. I mean you don't need to follow someone around, but I think it's pretty much assumed your watching out for one another.. and if you see a guy coming at a teammate, either attack him, call it out, or do something to provide support/cover.

Having someone specifically watch and cover you is good sometimes, like in Crossroads when going for the bomb, for example. I think it's just good gameplay to be watching out for your teammates as much as for yourself.

LIke Wand3rer said theres alot of idiots in Socom. thank goodness for them or we would have half the amount of kills we usually do!
