I need help soooo bad...Please help ASAP!
Ok....I just bought my Ethernet cord. I do my registration and then I get confused to pick either Auto or Manual....So I choose Auto and it ask me does my ISP need a ID and Pw...I pick Yes and put the info in. Then it takes me o the Connection test and its always a failure....Another problem....On my modem I have a Ethernet and USB light. everytime i turn the power off, either the ethernet light comes on or the usb light comes on...I dont know which one I need...Please help me I wanna play!!!

You need to use the CAT5. Also, after you do a auto setting detect, try telling it that your ISP doesnt need ID and PASS. Hope that helps.

If you use DSL, then you probably need to enter a username and password.

If you use cable, it should connect automatically.

I have Verizon DSL and a Cat5e cable....Does no Password and no ID work?

I use Metrocast Cable and I have never entered a user name nor PW and it has always worked. Try that...and I wouldn't worry too much about the whole light USB problem. Whenever I plug the ethernet from my comp, this light comes on, then I plug the ethernet from the PS2 and there's no light...no biggie.

on configuration, go to Auto then it will say if u need id & pw hit no then test connection thn u are set izzle

Since you said you are using DSL, you'll need a username and password.

DSL basically works EXACTLY like dial up... only faster... If you have a computer, when you hit connect, it will "dial" and use a username and password to connect.

Get that username and password, and then go into Socom setup, and set it up manually. Automatic setup won't work.
