~WETWORKS getting WET?

lol, sorry WET... after monitoring your progress as a new mod, i have come with the conclusion that you "lock" a lot of stuff.

i know its your job, i know that most of what has been locked up should be locked, but i think its a case of you just getting your moderator powers and wanting to use them

I voted that he locks threads that should be locked anyway. I don't see that many locked threads as I browse through all of the forums, and, I will admit, I've seen a few I wasn't so sure on, but other than that, I think he's doing a fine job.

I think he also realized that being a moderator is more work, and a different perspective on posting than you have as a normal user. Everything changes from wanting to post and have your opinion heard to wanting to make sure people follow the rules, and, when you have time, make a small shout-out for what you think. Trust me, managing stuff on the site is a bit different from what most people would think.

I, myself, have gotten so used to it, I can no longer go tonew forums as a normal member and be content; it really is a whole different mindset. I know this has gotten completely off the topic, but I wanted to give a small frame-of-reference as to what may be happening.

He locks a lot of threads that should be locked. Me, on the other hand I choose to see how long a thread survives then make my decision. Unless it is completley worthless and distrubing.

If a thread seems to be getting attention I will let it ride until it gets out of hand. i think we start deleting a majority of the useless threads and archive the rest. If your post count drops it was because you took part in a thread that no longer has any use to our forums. Everything else will be located in the archive category.

Wet was telling me that's one of the reasons he stopped making sigs, he said it's a load of work. I could imagine it being this much work with 5600 members, and I would bet not even a fourth of them look at the graphics section, so I can imagine somewhat how much work it is.

Ahh, too bad you guys don't get weekends off.

Who is ~WETWORKS?

You know I am trying to keep a very low profile with this new job. It is true that it has been my singular goal since about a month after I joined this forum to become a mod. When I finally stopped wanting it so bad, DK gave it to me. It was a humbling experience to say the least.

I didn't want to flaunt my "power" in front of anyone else. I wanted to keep quiet and do my job. I definitely didn't want what happened to Cheesy to happen to me. Of course if you do your job like you are supposed to then I guess that is inevitable. Cheesy was doing his job, he just wasn't diplomatic about it.

If anyone, and I mean anyone, takes offense to something I do as a mod, PM me. We will work it out. And if we can't work it out, then DK will work it out for us. I don't mind being wrong. I will admit when I make a mistake, but if you don't tell me then I won't know that it happened.

I know this is sort of a joke mOB, but really if I do something wrong let me know. Until then I will continue my neverending fight against spam, double posting, and ignorance.

oh no, this is COMPLETLEY meant as a joke. i have nothing against you and i have no reason at all to have anything against you. 100% joke, and im just happy that you seen it as that and didnt take much offense to it. if you did, im very sorry in advanced but yea, it was for fun

I think ~WET is doing a great job so far... I like things to be neat & clean; as much as he and other admin/mods like. Keep it up, ~WET!!!

Now...I really still believe that I was in no fault. It's just that the people I was contantly correcting, were getting so 'hurt', that they whined and whined, forcing me to seriously consider burning the computer and deleting every post ever created

...Look, this mod job is not incredible amounts of fun. Those of us who wanted it, wanted it for the responsiblilty. Not to become members of the Supreme-uber Staff. I see this job as an opportunity to better the others around me in ways such as grammar, thinking, and maturity. Like I have said time and time again, this site was made for MATURE gamers. We, the members of this forum (Staff and what-not), are here to enjoy an environment that includes others like us. When someone who trys to disrupt this 'aura', I and ~Wet have seen it as a threat and have vowed to fix it. If you feel you are being picked on, then look at what you are saying compared to what others are and look for where a conflict may start. When you find it, FIX IT! If your horrible grammar is causing a problem; FIX IT! If your bad mouth is causing a problem; FIX IT! If you are here to just piss me off; LEAVE! If you like to flame other members for their opinions; FIX IT!

Whew...Glad I got that off my chest. Anyways, that's my 'theory', and you don't have to believe it or not. Just know that if I delete or lock something, it will be based off of that.
