Yesterday as i'm walking through the mall, i see one of my clan members and he shows me this video game mag and brings me right to the page where it was talking about socom and the hdd.
Heres the bad news. The HDD will not be released on its own. If another game comes out requiring the HDD, it will be released together. Suckss i know but hey, you might as well go buy that crappy Final Fantasy joint if you want the HDD. Sorry to burst a couple of bubbles.
Now heres the good news. I've just saved a bunch of money by...i'm just kidding but the good news is that theirs gonna be 3 new socom 2 maps. They didn't say when but it might be soon or it might be 3 months but they didn't clearly list when it will drop. Lets just hope they do it soon so that we can get a new look at things. I just hope this lag and disconnects goes away when the maps come out.

yea i just hope the new maps are good. I will be bummed if they come out with crappy maps. They need way more even maps like cross roads. If you notice in a clan battle xroads is always the last maps cuz it is the most fair. Anyway thanks for the news. PS geico saved me nothing!!!!!
THE EASIEST WAY FOR ZIPPER/SONY TO PLEASE EVERYONE IS TO JUST MAKE ALL THE MAPS PLAYABLE AT DIFFERENT TIMES OF DAY....CROSSROADS AT NIGHT, AND SHADOW FALLS OR SANDSTORM DURING THE DAY WOULD BE COOL....
IT CAN'T BE THAT HARD TO DO....AND QUICK....COME ON, GET ON IT....
I dont know why most of you are assuming that the HDD is going to stop lag, lag will always be there no matter what, when you are playing online play for any game not just socom, you will encounter lag, maybe not as much as socomII but you will. There is so much lag in S2 because there are almost 1,000,000 people on the game and of course its gonna cause lag

If they did this they would have to change the name of Shadow falls! It wouldn't be dark.

I contacted SONY and they said that They do have plans to release the HDD Seperate. The SONY rep stated that he does not have a projected date but we should see something by Christmas.
They other option is to do what i did. GO to EB and buy a used hard drive. I think i paid $45.00 for my Used HD. They had 5 HD's returned!

The socom server's are just crap.
All the online games i have played on the ps2 were running fine
But socom 1 and 2 is very laggy and i get alot of disconection's.
And dont say that it is cuz of the number of people who play cuz when i play at 03:00 AM it still happens.
