Well buddy, I personally favor the loud sniper rifles. It symbolizes the power a sniper has on a tango. The loud shot scares the victim and the never see the .50 caliber coming. It symbolizes the effect I have on the tango. So, I use the M87ELR and the M82A1A for my 1 shot kills. I snipe in real life if you really care, i have a 30-06 and i love shooting deer. :)

yah, that loud shot usually sends shivers down my spine, especially when you hear the ground getting torn up around you!

I use a SR-25 SD because u can aim for a target like the chest and take 2 shots and there dead. It takes a lot less time.

No actually, it doesn't take less time, because you have to line up two shots on the target, instead of one (even if you can fire almost immediately, there's still the recoil to account for).

If you're facing multiple targets, then the SR may be a better choice (they will close on you quite quickly, so you need the rapid fire), but for long distance kills (and down-to-the-line shots), I'd go with the M87/M82.

Everything is to your preference though, and I prefer stopping power over silence and speed, depending on the map.

In short, don't use any one sniper rifle. Pick the one that is best for the mission, and your playing style.

Am I the only one that has sniped with an M4A1-SD?

I know the SR is more accurate, but the M4 is good for the random guy who likes to go long range whilst not giving up fire rate.

Perfectly possible. I've done it with a DE and binoculars. One-hit-kill, from all the way across the map (though I was in the C4-building near the SEALS start when I did it, the one with the stairs, and the window).

Yes, the m4a1sd has a long enough range to just barely reach across Vigilance. Believe it or not, a machine-gunner can hit you at sniper-rifle ranges in SOCOM II. It's sooo unfair, but pretty realistic: you see, the maps are not 1000 yards across. At most, they are 500 yards, perfectly within machine gun range.

Apparently you haven't ever played against me... you wouldn't hear the ground getting torn up around you... you'd be dead first shot!

M8 who cares if there's a muzzle flash, the person you're aiming at should be dead when the flash goes off and you shouldn't be shooting people close enough where reload time is going to have that much of an effect.
