I'd have to totally agree with SoLdieR_DeMoN. A head shot is a head shot, and some people can do it with certain types of guns, and others can do it with others. It took me a long time to come to a decision, my own decisions, on what maps i use what gun. Some maps I like to have the M60E3. The last two times i played Guidance online, this gun helped me obtain MVP both times, and i'm only a lt. commander playing against captains. For crossroads i then change to an M-14 with 2x ammo and still i kill everyone. It just matters on how well a gun works for the person who uses it.

I agree. I use the M40A1 on levels that are wide open. Even if I miss their head and hit their body a second shot will normally kill em. That goes with most guns. you take the gun that fits you whether it be accuracy, rate of fire, fire power, and scatter of the bullets. You can never ask what guns are the best because sooner or later you'll get every gun on that list.

I would love to have the opportunity to try different guns but I am FORCED to use the M60 because of the damned L3 button. No matter how hard I try not to press it in, my fire rate ALWAYS changes and I suck because of it. At least with the M60 I dont have to worry about that and I do fairly well with it. I'm gonna try to rewire the L3 and add a new button on the side instead of it.

i can use all the guns effectively, it tokk sometime and i was pwned through it all but each gun has different charateristics that when used, you must alter your playing style to use efectively.
the f90 is the **** in tunnels. 50 rapidly firing bullets in a tunnel will pwn.
i love the 552 silenced and the m4a1 sd.
just remember when you up the fire rate your sacrifice accuracy, that is why hardly anyone uses the 9mm sub. (9mm sub pwns)
just like the sasr or even the sr-25 is an awesome rifle, just remember to take 3 quick shots every time you see someone, it does not have the punch of an m82 or an m87 but you can land more shots with them with far less recoil.

The strange thing for me is that i usually play with a few select guns for a long time...which are the most popular and 'said to be best guns'.
Then, later on i get board of the gun, so get the crappiest one everyone hates, and it ends up working out pretty good.
i think the best gun is all how you use it..i actually think the 'crappier' guns are actually the better ones, because you need better skills to use them, and eventually become very effective with them once you learn how to use em.

Each gun has different characteristics, weaknesses, and strengths.
Seals: Whoever said the M4A1 is crap, your wrong. That has been, and is still one of the seal's best guns. The new RA-14 and IW-80A2 are also very good.
Terrorists: The AKS isn't what it used to be, but its not that bad. The AK-47 was made a lot better now, and I think, is better than the AKS-74. The STG-77 is not bad at all.
Unison: The M60E3 is a lot better in Socom II. I use it all the time on Terrorists becasue I despise the Terrorist's guns. The M 14 is a lot better now and is pretty lethal.
Remember, no matter the gun, one headshot and your dead. So every gun will work if you think about it. There is no real crappy gun, its all opinion and stereotypes. I've been teared down by Ozi's and F90's. So whatever gun works for you, use it.

Well said, Assassin... I agree with what you stated 100%.

Uhm, why has nobody even mentioned the M16A2? Perhaps you are so lazy that you only feel you should press the R1 button once and hold it down. But if so, you haven't properly weighed the advantage of pulsing the trigger with an M16. Or perhaps or perchance you haven't the dexterity, coordination, or skill necesary to both aim and work the trigger at the same time. No matter. Practice cures all. But stick with your "spray 'n' pray" tactics if you wish. Just dont be surprised when you get fragged from 50 yards by an M16 before you can get a shot off. I'd also like to add, as a personal opinion, that the M60E3 is far to accurate in SOCOM II. I will not comment on its power, because it has always been powerful. In this iteration of the game though, a person need not ""pray" whilst he "spray." Thus, being that I deem it an unfair weapon to use (although the majority of players online seem to use it exclusively, bringing up their own self image...noobie-cannon, indeed), I personally refuse to use it, opting in its stead for an M16, or for close quarters an M14.
