What an eejit. Reminds me of a guy my dad is going to represent... he was driving drunk and crashed, killing one of his passengers, and rather than calling it a night he jumped into a car belonging to a passerby who got out to help, and raced away. The guy managed to get across the border into the Republic before he was caught. Thankfully its going to be a straight guilty plea... there are some people even lawyers don't like defending.

Some times it is a case of "temporary" insanity, where a person has just lost it for the moment they were in their fit of rage. I am generally a cool and collected individual, even when faced with challenging situations, so I have no idea what it's like to be that way, but maybe some people just have never been able to know their limits when they get like that?

In other instances, and all instances, actually... it's the lawyer who will advise for an insanity plea, not the defendant, and also in all cases, they are evaluated by a psychologist. Now granted, we might all qualify as being a bit crazy under the standards they often go by, but there are warranted instances where a person is legitimately insane and deserve to get proper care.

    here is another funny news.
this one bank robber in wisconsin i think, stood in line while wearing a ski mask to rob the place.
when the bank teller told him to remove his mask, he says that he is here to rob the place.
he gets the money and makes out only 10 miles before the cops capture him and the gun he was carrying was a toy gun.
the amazing part is that he was standing in line to rob the bank.

Robber Caught After Putting Down Gun

TAMPA, FL (AP) -- A Tampa man suspected of armed robbery apparently forgot that the key to a successful armed robbery is hanging on to the gun. Police say 42-year-old Jerome Haggins, armed with a pistol, entered a Tampa home Saturday night, ordered six men to the ground and demanded they give up their wallets and jewelry. He then forced them to take off their clothes and noticed that one of the men had not given up his bracelet. Police say Haggins put his pistol on a table, walked over to the man and snatched the bracelet. But while Haggins was taking the bracelet, police say another victim grabbed the gun and pointed it at Haggins. The would-be victims held Haggins until police arrived. Haggins faces multiple charges, including armed robbery. He was being held without bail set.

Breathalyzers: Car Breathalyzer Mistakes Ice Cream for Alcohol, Doesn't Let Man Drive Home
You may want to hand your keys over after a pint of Ben and Jerry's, because in Australia, a man's car breathalyzer refused to start his engine after he ate an Ice Cream Bar. UPI reports that the unidentified man, who lives in Frankston, Australia, claims he ate Bubble O'Bill ice cream (pictured above), right before blowing into the breathalyzer, which caused the false positive. Afterwards went before a court asking to have the breathalyzer removed from his car.
The court decided to verify the error with a second test. Without eating the Ice Cream, the man's BAC was .0000. Immediately after taking two bites, it was .0018. The man got his wish, and the breathalyzer was removed. But the larger cause for concern here is what he did to get stuck with the breathalyzer in the first place? And what will he do now that he's no longer shackled to the buzz killer?

Miley Cyrus' slant-eye pose slammed by Asian group - Yahoo! Canada News
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Disney teen idol Miley Cyrus has been accused of taunting and mocking Asians by making slant-eye poses in a personal photograph with her friends.

A snapshot of Cyrus, 16, best known as the star of the Disney Channel show "Hannah Montana", and friends posing with an Asian friend and pulling their eyes sideways surfaced on the Internet this week.

The OCA, a national organization in the United States dedicated to advancing the social and political welfare of Asian Pacific Americans, called on the singer-actress to apologize.

The group said the image "falls within a long and unfortunate history of people mocking and denigrating individuals of Asian descent."

"Not only has Miley Cyrus and the other individuals in the photograph encouraged and legitimized the taunting and mocking of people of Asian descent, she has also insulted her many Asian Pacific American friends," OCA executive director George Wu in a statement issued on Monday.

Wu said the fact that an Asian friend was included in the photo "does not make it acceptable."

Representatives for Cyrus did not immediately return calls for comment on Tuesday.

Cyrus, one of the biggest teen stars in the world, apologized to fans last year for a Vanity Fair photo shoot which showed her apparently wearing little but a satin bedsheet. She also came under fire in 2008 for personal pictures showing her in her underwear.

Does your Pepsi lack pep? Is your Coke not the real thing? India's Hindu nationalist movement apparently has the answer: a new soft drink made from cow urine.

The bovine brew is in the final stages of development by the Cow Protection Department of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), India's biggest and oldest Hindu nationalist group, according to the man who makes it.

Om Prakash, the head of the department, said the drink – called "gau jal", or "cow water" – in Sanskrit was undergoing laboratory tests and would be launched "very soon, maybe by the end of this year".

"Don't worry, it won't smell like urine and will be tasty too," he told The Times from his headquarters in Hardwar, one of four holy cities on the River Ganges. "Its USP will be that it's going to be very healthy. It won't be like carbonated drinks and would be devoid of any toxins."

The drink is the latest attempt by the RSS – which was founded in 1925 and now claims eight million members – to cleanse India of foreign influence and promote its ideology of Hindutva, or Hindu-ness.

Hindus revere cows and slaughtering them is illegal in most of India. Cow dung is traditionally used as a fuel and disinfectant in villages, while cow urine and dung are often consumed in rituals to "purify" those on the bottom rungs of the Hindu caste system.

In 2001, the RSS and its offshoots – which include the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party – began promoting cow urine as a cure for ailments ranging from liver disease to obesity and even cancer.

The movement has often been accused of using more violent methods, such as killing 67 Christians in the eastern state of Orissa last year, and assaulting women in a pub in Mangalore last month. It also has a history of targeting foreign business in India, as in 1994, when it organised a nationwide boycott of multinational consumer goods, including Pepsi and Coca Cola.

The cola brands are popular in India, now one of their biggest markets, but have struggled in recent years to shake off allegations, which they deny, that they contain dangerous levels of pesticide.

Mr Prakash said his drink, by contrast, was made mainly of cow urine, mixed with a few medicinal and ayurvedic herbs. He said it would be "cheap", but declined to give further details about its price or ingredients until it was officially launched.

He insisted, however, that it would be able to compete with the American cola brands, even with their enormous advertising budgets. "We're going to give them good competition as our drink is good for mankind," he said. "We may also think of exporting it."

" I'll have the Cheeseburger with fries and a Coke. ".... We don't carry Coke. Would Gau Jal be ok ?

Less funny than it is strange... they want to hit a British army base and end up leaving a bomb in the middle of a Nationalist village? The sheer incompetence of these people is embarrassing. I drove past that bomb twice... to have been killed by these muppets would have been very annoying.

over here, near where I live, in lilburn, ga. There was an older lady, probably around the 70's, that stayed in a walmart for 3 days straight getting the best deals for the holidays as soon as they brought it out from the back. People reported her sleeping on patio furniture that was on display inside the walmart. Finally, police came and escorted her out.

This woman wanted her McNuggets badly. I would've bought her a 60 pack to be in MCDonalds as this unfolded. What's a McDouble ? Is that something new ?
The only way I eat them things anymore is if they're being waved in my face after a long night of boozing.

FORT PIERCE — Told McDonald’s was out of Chicken McNuggets after paying for a 10-piece meal, a local woman called 911.

    Three times.

“This is an emergency, If I would have known they didn’t have McNuggets, I wouldn’t have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don’t want one,” Latreasa L. Goodman told police. “This is an emergency.”

The McNugget meltdown happened last week at a McDonald’s in the 600 block of North U.S. 1 and ended with Goodman, 27, getting a notice to appear in court on a misuse of 911 charge, according to a recently released police report.

Goodman told investigators she tried to get a refund for the 10-piece McNuggets, but the cashier told her all sales are final.

“I called 911 because I couldn’t get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets,” Goodman told police.

The cashier told police she offered Goodman, of the 2400 block of South 25th Street, a larger portion of food for the same price to make up for it, but said Goodman got “irate,” the report states.

Goodman reportedly yelled, “I don’t want a McDouble and small fry,” the cashier told investigators.

Dispatchers for 911 told police Goodman called the emergency number three times and on each occasion was told an officer was en route.

“Goodman maintained the attitude ‘this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency,’” the report states.

McNuggets, introduced to the McDonald’s national menu in 1983, are sold in more than 100 countries and often are dunked in barbecue or hot mustard sauce. Goodman’s 10-piece selection has 460 calories and 29 grams of fat.

On Tuesday, Goodman said she agreed to get a McDouble in lieu of the McNuggets as long as she also got the difference in price back. Goodman said the only menu items she cares for are McNuggets and McDoubles.

Goodman claimed a McDonald’s worker wouldn’t give her the difference in money back, so Goodman decided she wanted a full refund.

    McDonald's statement:

"Satisfying each and every customer that visits our restaurants is very important to us.

Regarding this isolated incident, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

In the event that we are unable to fill an order, a customer should be offered the choice of a full refund or alternative menu items. We regret that in this instance, that wasn't the case.

We want to correct our mistake. We will be sending the customer her refund, along with an Arch card for a complimentary meal on us.

We never want to disappoint a McNuggets fan or any McDonald's customer.

Customer satisfaction is our top priority

No more than I expect from a woman called Latreasa to be honest. I hope to be far far away when the celebrity spawn of today reach maturity... what can the world do against Apples and Crown Princes?
