Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
I've been hearing good things about this book. I know it's fairly old but been interested in picking it up. Has anyone ever read it? If so, is it any good?

I read it and enjoyed it, definitely off the wall. The movie is great too, one of my favorite Johnny Depp movies.

Yeah, I found the movie on a site and watched a good hour, that movie is trippy as hell. Especially when he's in the bar at the hotel and thinks he's in a reptile zoo. I'm definitely going to finish watching.

I strongly suggest reading it. Being that it's fairly old doesn't matter, it's still a great read. I've read lot's of Dr. Thompson's books my favorite being Hell's Angels and I always have Kingdom of Fear within arms reach of the toilet.
Hunter s. Thompson's writings were incredible especially when he was writing articles for Rolling Stone. I was crushed when he killed himself in 2005. I miss that guy dearly.

The movie is absolutely hilarious as hell from beginning to end.
I would say that I laughed the hardest when they sniffed the ether and tried to get inside the carnival or fair or whatever it was. Good times...

When I lived in Glenwood Springs Colorado I would freguent the bar Doc Hollidays. Hunter would also drink there quite frequently and although he lived in Snowmass Village outside of Aspen he was known as the town drunk. One time My car ran out of gas in Carbondale and good ol Hunter picked me up in his Lincoln. He dropped me off in Glenwood. I think that guy had a screw loose. He told me he used to get high with Nixon. He mentioned something about Cambodia too.

I really did enjoy this move. I've watched it on numerous occasions and have yet grown tired of it. I really do enjoy the part where he is driving back home the cop pulls him over and it's non-other then Gerry "****in" Busey....

I finally went out and purchased this movie. I've watched it twice already, I love this movie. Definitely one of my top 5.
