The thing is, he has only been convicted once, and that was 20 years ago. If he was convicted of rape, sexual battery, etc. multiple times, I could understand, but he hasn't been as far as the information provided for us shows.
It might only be the 8th grade, but in four years, the same thing will most likely happen to this guy, and it shouldn't, in my opinion.
My U.S. Government teacher showed my class the familywatchdog.us site a year ago, but I had forgotten what it was and I wanted to check it out. Turns out that there are 12 or so sex offenders convicted of crimes against children within roughly a mile of my old high school, and two of them can probably look out their window and see students going into and out of the school. It's not Missouri, but I think it's worse to have these sex offenders being capable of walking right outside and picking up a kid right there than to have a sex offender walk into a school with hundreds of people who are actually watching their children.

You must of went to the Bob Knight's School of Rape.
Women's groups nationwide were outraged by Knight's comments during an April, 1988 interview with Connie Chung in which he said, "I think that if rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it."

Good job twisting my words around. I'm saying people can change. For christ's sake, all the guy wants to do is see his son graduate from the 8th grade.
**** Bob Knight.

I wasn't intending on twisting your words around. Your comment just made me think of what Bob Knight had said for no particular reason.
I Agree. I think the guy should see his son graduate the 8th grade also, as long as my Shark Cage Theory is used.

It's much like Nun said. People are never satisfied. They want more and more. Todays society is complex imo. People want justice served to others until the other person can't take much more. When the justice is being served to them, they are quick to ask for total forgiveness, if that makes sense. I learned that from sociology. I find that kind of behavior sicking to be honest.
The fact that this man can't see his son graduate is an example of people wanting justice served to this man cold. They don't care who it hurts, just as long as they get what they want. And the fact that the superintendent makes the decision solely on what 1,000 people want to happen is wrong. That's society for you. Sigh, I hate society.

Quite right, Pat.
People will cry for blood, until it's their head that's on the chopping block.

In this sort of situation, it makes me wonder "What Would Bigmike's Beard Do?"

I'm going to add onto what I said earlier. I say the school use this as an example. He raped a girl, no matter how old or how long ago it happened... it still happened. I don't care if he went to prison and found Jesus, Alah, or Budda, or whoever people find in prison. He forever scarred that girl. The woman may still have some emotional problems because of it.
I'd say go on the news and make an example by saying that these people do not get any special treatment, no matter how much time has passed since the offense. He is still the same person who commited, just a bit older. It's a bit strict, but picture this.
Imagine your sister, your mother, your significant other, someone you care about... put them in the shoes of that poor girl that was raped. Imagine what it would have been like had that happened to her. Imagine how you would feel. You'd want to kill that man. Now, many years down the line, does that feeling change? For me, no... no it doesn't.

"Majority Decides" is what comes with Democracy, you might learn that in sociology one day too.
