New Bill could pretty much destroy the internet...
WTF New Bill Bans Anonymous Internet Comments Shoutwire.com

Well, I thought we were finished slamming ignorant, back-water politicians this week after exposing Sally Kern's illogical hatred for gays. It seems old Sally has only three hardcore supporters on ShoutWire. Shame on you.
In shocking fashion, however, new reports show someone was just not content to let Sally Kern hold the title of Gold Star Political Douchebag Deputy of the Week. It's just come to my attention that a #$@#@ state representative from Kentucky is trying to destroy internet freedom. If his bill is passed, you can say goodbye to privacy on ANY social website.
What we're talking about today, my friends, is Kentucky state representative Tim Couch and a dangerous new bill he is apparently trying to pass. In short, the bill which was filed last week will make anonymous online posting ILLEGAL.
That means no more personal screen names for you. No more HyenathePirate, ds22, SteelyDan, Xxoozero or that BigDog character from thisisbyus. When you make a post online, your screen name will be your real FULL NAME; First, middle and last. In your profile your home address and email will have to be available. Anything other than that would be illegal and punishable by law.
For any website that tried to skirt the bill and still allow their users to post anonymously, the owners would get nailed with fines. $500 for the first anonymous user who posted, then $1000 per person who was allowed to anonymously post on a website.
You can rest assured that if this passed, none of us would live safely un-charred for a week after calling a certain presidential candidate a "Mean fire-breathing dragon". In defense of this bill, Representative Couch allegedly maintains that he wants this passed to cut down on online cyber bullying. I call bollocks. This is just a new way to destroy internet freedom and I'd be entirely surprised if Couch wasn't one of the guys trying to destroy internet neutrality.
Is online security and safety a concern? Yes, it is. Does that mean we should violate...oh, I don't know, privacy laws and skirt the first amendment. Hell no. Where do politicians get off thinking they can just romp through the internet and make ridiculous laws based on their unsubstantiated fears. Stop trying to destroy our slice of freedom.
I'm especially ticked about this, and similar measure like it, and hopefully you are too. Make sure to shout this up in support of the freedom we demand on the net and for all that's good, tell your friends about this too. Kentucky, dudes. Listen. Don't vote for Tim Couch in the next elections. And if his namesake matches the habits of the worst quarterback ever, you can rest assured is antics will eventually pass all of us into the hands of oppression.

no more /b/tards i guess, but this will never happen, the point of being anonymous is mostly for safety, not because its fun being anonymous.

exactly. there's no way in hell this will ever get passed. do you really think mom and dad would allow their 12 year old to post on a website and expose their full name and home address for any random pervert to see? not gonna happen.
this is just some fruitloop politician trying to use shock and scare tactics to stand out and get attention for some smaller issue or agenda that will seem sane compared to this.

If this does somehow come to pass and affects everyone, I can honestly say I will give up on the computer world entirely.
It will destroy the internet as we currently know it and replace it with a network of perversion and identity theft.

It's not going to pass... that's extremely dangerous giving out information like that.

That bill is a joke. I don't see it going anywhere. And if it did, and he made a post somewhere on the internet, I bet a whole gang of angry people would track him down and ruin him, not that it's not already possible. =P
By the way, Happy B-Day, FazeD! It's my sister's birthday, too, but she's 18, not 17.

Man, if I was called John Smith I would be so pissed off if this became law. As it is there are already at least a hundred guys called James Dillon in the UK and I've met two of them... its bad enough sharing names, usernames would be too far!
Kentucky... why does that state exist? Its even worse than Wyoming because Kentuckians aren't just mythical and we have the chicken to prove it.
