I have been reading and thinking about evolution for a while now, and I have a few questions.

1. Most scientists say that we have observed evolution, but I don't believe we have observed it as a whole. Darwin's finches is a good example is how speciation happens. speciation. But when have we ever seen a species evolve into something that is completely different, because other than the length of the birds beak and the mating habits of that group of birds, the finches remained exactly the same. By definition, that experiment showed a change in species. But come on, can they still say that they have observed the evolution they believe in so strongly? They haven't, they have barely touched the surface. Have we ever seen this kind of macro evolution actually take place before our eyes? I just want to know how they can justify it so well.

2. There are some kinds of animals that evolution by natural selection doesn't work with. For example, the bird's wing. Natural selection says that in a species, a heritable trait will be given to a member of that species, and it will be advantageous. It will set that animal apart from the rest of the species and help it survive better, and eventually through reproduction, it will belong to every member of the species. This works for some traits, like an animal running faster, or being stronger. The micro evolution. What does not work is how the bird evolved a wing. Natural selection would say it would be born with a little growth on its side, and slowly through time that growth would become a wing, and after more time, the entire species would have wings and be able to fly. But how would that original little growth on the bird be advantageous? How would it help the bird to survive and therefore set it apart from the rest? How would it have a chance to evolve into a wing? The only reason thing evolve like this is because they need something to survive. So while this little stub was evolving into a wing, the other birds who were not graced with this appendage would be dying off because they did not have the trait necessary to survive. How does that little growth help the bird survive better? It just doesn't make sense. I hope I explained that one well enough, if not please say so.

3. Most scientific theories get proven wrong eventually, or they change. I am sure this will happen to evolution eventually. As we uncover more about it, we will be able to know the actual truth about our origin as opposed to the theory we have now, which is on the right track, but flawed. How do you guys think the theory will change with time?

PS: This is not a religious debate, and I do not want it to turn into one. We had one, and it took its course, and we don't need another one. please keep this purely scientific and on topic. Thanks.

If Evolution was as black and white as scientists say it is, why are there millions upon millions of species on earth? Surely, even considering environmental changes and natural disaters, a few hundred of the absolute best of each type (reptile, mammal, etc) should have emerged in the past few hundred million years?

And why the hell do we eat and breathe through the same tube? thats just asking for trouble.

Now I, for one, think evolution is a bunch of *bullcrap*! But I've been told I have to teach it to you anyway. It was thought up by Charles Darwin and it goes something like this..

In the beginning, we were all fish. Okay? Swimming around in the water. And then one day a couple of fish had a retard baby, and the retard baby was different, so it got to live. So Retard Fish goes on to make more retard babies, and then one day, a retard baby fish crawled out of the ocean with its...mutant fish hands... and it had butt sex with a squirrel or something and made this. Retard frog-sqirrel, and then *that* had a retard baby which was a... monkey-fish-frog... And then this monkey-fish-frog had butt sex with that monkey, and that monkey had a mutant retard baby that screwed another monkey... and that made you! So there you go! You're the retarded offspring of five monkeys having butt sex with a fish-squirrel! Congratulations!

Same here, I took Ancient Civilizations in High School (Grade 12 AP) and we studied both creationism and evloution. There is suficent evidence from fossils such as "Lucy" to devlop a timeline from apes to present day humans with gaps inbetween. It is really interesting to see how homo sapien sapien's (yes that is correct, we are not "homo sapiens" we are "Homo sapien sapien's. Stupid? Yes but oh well) Evolved from being independant nomatic individuals into full advanced civilizations.

To tell you the truth. All science is, is a bunch of opinions. No one knows the truth about anything. Just a bunch of educated guesses. If we can't figure out what the apendex does, how in the world do you think we'll be able to find the truth out about evolutions. I like aliens brought us here and we forgot, just ask Tom Cruise. He knows, he know everything about everything.
