Another would be to stick a man on Frostfire and then put him onto any Call of Duty 4 map.
The mole, if the picture posted was actually of the creature, is a poor creature. I bet it's just given up on life and doesn't care about the pain more than not feeling at all.
I wouldn't like not being able to feel pain. Some pain is good pain, and other pain, like what Pan said, keeps us in check. For a pain medicine it would work, but to see what actually causes it to be immune to pain naturally than try and make the results applicable to humans just would A). take too long and B). be a waste of time. Researchers could focus on things a bit more important I think.
