You can't tell me in your history of driving you have NEVER sped. Sometime in your life, regardless of the reason, you were over the speed limit while operating a motor vehicle.

Maybe 5 miles or so over. If you consider that speeding. But nothing to the degree moron was at where he crashed the car they were driving in.

I recently got pulled over doing 105 in a 70 in another county here in FL. It's now a mandatory hearing due to a change in the laws since it was over the speed limit 30+. I have my arraignment hearing in a couple weeks. I suck.

I plan on telling them I'm the moderator Swiss Miss off of Video-Game-Forums.com and see if I can get off on just my name alone, too.

Is that a county law or a state law ??? Are you going to represent yourself ??
I absolutely CANNOT get another ticket in my lifetime. So, I drive like the old people around here now, 10 MPH under the speed limit. Only difference is I don't crash into buildings.

STATE law... I got the ticket over in Volusia county trying to get home on a sunday morning from Port Orange.

NEW FOR 2006! Speeding 30 MPH Over Limit
318.19. Infractions requiring a mandatory hearing

Any person cited for the infractions listed in this section shall not have the provisions of s. 318.14(2), (4), and (9) available to him or her but must appear before the designated official at the time and location of the scheduled hearing:
(1) . . . ; or.
(5) Any infraction [for] exceeding the speed limit by 30 m.p.h. or more.
I'll likely represent myself and plead no contest and ask the judge to withhold adjudication (no points on my license) which they'll likely do because that means more money in their pockets. Maybe if I get a nice judge I can explain that I'm a poor struggling law student and they'll be a little more sympathetic and maybe not make me shovel out so much (more) money.

If I get reassigned an evidentiary hearing date I may have to get a lawyer or file for a continuance (request more time) because I can't afford to take off days from school like I'm already having to do for this arraignment hearing which is mandatory I show up at 9 o'clock on a Friday morning in Daytona Beach in person or I get my license suspended... Again, I suck.

I got a 70 in a 45, automatically lost my license for 30 days here in PA. It was worth it though, I've never seen a cop SO pissed off.

I've been pulled over once for doing 120 in an 80. Luckily I got away without even a warning.

LMAO... this is kinda off-topic, but I've seen a friend of mine piss off a cop more than I'll bet yours was... he had the balls to laugh and tell the cop that he "looked like a pear".

True story.

I was caught in a speed trap in front of my school. Wanker saw it was my first infraction and I had to do 15 hours of comm serve to get it erased. Best part is after 2 hours, the guy at the animal shelter ran out of stuff for me to do, so he signed me off for 15 hours and let me go. Huzzah!

I was doing about 85 down a highway one day and a CHP (California Highway Patrol) pulled me over. When he started writing the ticket, I asked, "Is that a ticket to the CHP Officer Ball?" He looked at me with a question across his face and replied, "CHP Officers don't have balls." After a few seconds he realized what he said, put away his pen, walked back to his cruiser and drove off without giving me the ticket.

JK, I heard it somewhere else. Always wanted to try that, though.
