I live in west islip New York, There is no security or cops of any sort in our school. We have teachers that are in control sort of like security but no Offical security. In our school we have I.D. cards to get in the school except the front door. The doors are locked and you slide it through. Just letting you know.

Well if she can carry a gun onto school property, then I can wear body armor on school property. And maybe a helmet so she doesn't get the head shot. Win/win!

Personally, I don't think she needs to bring a gun into an education environment. Like stated before, the reprecussions could be astronomical. And I'd have to agree with someone else's statement, about allowing her to use non-lethal forms of protection, mace and a taser (tasers are alot worse then a stun gun and you're not going anywhere after being shot with one) would work just as well inside a confined space. Also, I think that all schools should have metal detectors, yea it's a pain, but it also goes a long way in securing staff and students safety. Why is it, that only in the "bad areas" they have cops and metal detectors. It should be nationwide in every school.

bringing gun inside the school isn't a problem as long as you use it right. if you feel safe carrying it inside because there are people who always bully you, and you got into your nerve because of these people, then they will get scared to you.

That's a dangerous way of thought that has gotten more innocent people killed, than those it has protected.

If someone's being bullied that bad, they need to get their school's staff & administration involved in addition to their parents.

The Michigan State Congress is currently voting on allowing Educational Instructors to possess and carry a weapon onto school property.

I personally think this is wrong, for two reasons.

-Consider this. A teacher has a gun on them, and a student gets really angry. The student does not have a gun themself, but the students knows the teacher has one. If you have a 120 pound teacher and 240 pound student, what are the odds the student is going to wrestle the teacher to the ground, and take their weapon? Now we have a student that can possibly go around the school and shoot it up.

Consider this as well. Knowing a staff member has a weapon, can cause a student to bring one to school as well. It only makes sense. The student figures if the staff member can bring a gun, why can't I? Thus, causing more of a problem than what was trying to be prevented.

I think all teachers should be allowed too. After seeing the new crowd that has came to my school recently, I would really like to carry a gun knowing the kids in our school came straight outta Flint.
