Selling old video game stuff

I am planning on selling my Playstation 2, games, and other accessories. Are there any sites that automatically buy items? No bidding, just buying directly? I don't feel like giving all of this to Gamestop for 10 dollars lol.

Not really. A website wouldn't do this because they need to inspect the item(s) so they can determine what it's worth and if they'd take it or not. You're better off using eBay, a garage sale, or Game Stop.

But why sell your PS2? Those consoles are beastly.

There is eBay, but I think you need to show a picture of the item(s) you're going to sell. I don't know for sure since I've never used eBay, but you will get decent prices there (sell stuff for an actual good price).

Or try the "craigslist" website... I am going to post the sale of my original Xbox in there, as well as my GameCube and games, so I can get my hands on a Nintendo Wii.

My brother posted the sale of his original Xbox on there yesterday, and he's already had several people email him with interest in buying it.

Craigslist is great. Most of my games have come off of there, along with my air conditioner, LCD tv, and my dog.

The only bad thing about it is that there are some really weird people that use it.

I love that list. That is where I got my car off of.

Either Craigslist or Ebay.

Not worth trading in a $250 item at a loss of 90% of the value. Use it as a dvd player in your room or in a room with a tv w/o a dvd. That's what I did. With the dvd remote ($20) I can barely tell the difference. I learned my lesson after trading in genesis and all my games minus Ninja Turtles and the Hyper Stone, NHL 95, and Street Fighter 2 (Couldn't bring myself to get rid of them) for a price that couldn't even buy a quarter of N64.

The depreciation value of a video game pretty much goes like this:

In a store wrapped: $60
In your home that very night (if very recently released): $45
In your home two weeks later: $30
In your home atleast 2-3 months after release (especially if unpopular): $15
In your home a year or more after the release date: $10
In your home belonging to a system not released in the past 2 years: Priceless

Unless you bought a Perfect Dark Zero for Xbox 360. I will show you that rate now!

Wrapped on week of release: $60
At home unwrapped that very night: $45
At home unwrapped two weeks later: $20
Trade-in value a month after release: $3

It took a hit of 95% of its value over a month long period. What did we learn from this? ****ing rent. ****.

That's not true in all cases though. Gamestop pays depending on how many copies of a certain game they have. I sold back Zelda for original gameboy and it was like $7, and thats almost 15 years after its release. Then I sold back Madden for my PSP and I got like $10. Sports games you get crap for because a lot of people have them, and they just dont need them. It depends on what you are selling back, basically.

Still I would rather try to somehow get rid of it. I am planning on purchasing a Playstation 3. Plus, I have 2 Playstation 2's so I don't have a need for the other.

I sold my PS2 + Extra Memory Card + 12 Games for $120.

I sold it to a friend who has a Flea Market Stall down in Tampa. I did get ripped off, but its a hell of a lot more than GameStop and anyone else was offering. I just needed money and fast. We were originally going for $150 but he changed his mind last minute.

Do GameStop still offer than good trade-deal where you get so much credit towards a PS3 when you trade in your PS2? That would be your best bet if you cant find anything else, if its still on obviously.

I sold quite a few things on eBay over the past few months, is the easiest way to sell, but not always the best for price. I sold an old Scalextric set (used it once when I was like 13) for $150 and when the guy got it, he said he would have paid that just for the cars. Again, needed a quick sale.

eBay is great if you know all the tricks so you dont get conned. I never even heard of craiglist so that may be better.
