I wonder what will come after Myspace? First there was AIM, now this. I'm sure whatever the next big thing is, more of those perverts will latch onto the band wagon aswell.

I can proudly say that I have never gotten into that MySpace crap. I like to play it safe and post on forums where I can learn a few decent things.

You gotta give it to the pedophiles though... they really do keep up to date on their stuff.

Big Red 11's right. I'm sure they had a few coders on the job doing the very thing that this independent person created, then the lawyers stepped in with the voice of reality and fired the coders from the job. In order to make SOME money off their work, they go to Wired instead.

Just play it safe, little boys. Don't talk to 39 year old males with the name "Pancake".

MySpace is fun as long as you're not a juicy young boy. Screw all you haters.

If you read the article you can see that they do background checks and look into the people come up within the automated search. It's not like they get a hit with the search and go cuff the person. If MySpace realy cared, and was doing this, they would send what they found to the police. The thing is, they didn't. They denied being able to do it in the first place.

Oh thanks for clearing that up for me, you're right... I didn't read the article other than a quick scroll down before I posted and saw the picture of the creepy guy named "Pancake". But at any rate, I wasn't serious in what I wrote, that was just my off-the-wall speculation on the matter.

It's funny to think still that society expects a private institution to govern and protect us. Isn't that the government's job to do research like this? I mean, sure it would be nice since MySpace has the resources and since it is afterall their own database, but it is not their responsibility to find the sexual predators. If the *government* really cared, *they* would research into this on their own accord.

See. What you guys don't know is that when I was @ the ripe young age of 8, I molested a 32 year old female. Overpowered her, you know; things of that sort.

I know, it was wrong of me, I'm sorry.

ON TOPIC:

Ummm... I find it incredible that people have such an underlying hatred/dislike for MySpace. Like.... WTF?

Anyway, I really DON'T care about pedophiles. Maybe because I grew up w/ a wide arrangement of criminals; but I really don't care. The way I've seen it while growing up is that there are sharks and fishes.

Fishes go around their lives moving w/ the crowd. Sharks take advantage of them, and stray from the norm to survive. Crude, and simple, but that's how I see it (I know someone's going to say something about that, but whatever). If the criminals take advantage of the idiots who choose not to defend themselves, or empower themselves with knowldege of just what it is that the "Sharks" do..... Then why care about them?

Why care about people who don't listen to instructions from their parents? Why care about people who don't care to learn how to protect themselves from getting taken advantage of? Why care about those who're......NOT proactive in protecting themselves?

Am I mean? No, I'm not, I care about many people in my life, and am generous to those that I see, if they need it. But the people I care about aren't the types to just LET things happen to them. They're pro-active, and take charge in making sure that B.S. doesn't happen to them.

If those who try to prevent criminal activities from happening to them innevitably fall to a crime, then I say help them as much, and however is deemed necessary. I say care your *** off, and care to the fullest! I say care untill your care machine in your chest bursts open.

But if you're not trying to protect yourself, you're an idiot, and I'll laugh @ you when you get hog-tied, raped, sodomized, and b*****-slapped all around the dark dank basement of some creepy 30 year old (*looks @ Prison.Fight.*).

G'Day!

All I do on myspace is usually talk to my friends, most of my friends don't have AIM/Yahoo or anything so that's really the only place to talk to them at. If I had no friends MySpace would be worse than it is now. Also if I EVER saw someone named Pancake talking to me I'd be like: "wtf y0 0mg dud3 l34v3 m3 t3h efff al0n3 y0u st4lkz3r."
