Cuba State # 51
Fidel's in bad shape and has transferred Power to his brother. I been wondering for a long time what would Cuba be like , post Castro. Should we shake them politcally, toss out the brother get rid of the Communism. Make Alcohol legal in Cuba again. Allow flights from Miami to Cuba and back only and Vice Versa and make Cuba State # 51. I dream of Vacationing on Cuba's beaches drinking Mojitos and Chillin. Castro's not dead yet , and I don't know how complicated it would be. But I would'nt mind if we owned Cuba.

Sadly that will only ever be a dream... the US virtually owned Cuba before Castro's revolution and even though things will change when he finally pops his clogs the people will not simply revert to being what they were

Just because a leader is gone does not mean his followers will go easily. Why would you think that we could simply stomp out the communism? More importantly, why should we? For vacations.... I don't think so.

We also owned Cuba during and after. We put Castro in charge and then he turned on us.
Even if we do gain power in cuba they will never become a state. They will be just like PR so they dont have to pay taxes.

Taking Cuba over and making it our own state sounds a little arrogant in my opinion. I'm sure there will be very many unhappy people with that desicion.

One thing I wondered is if no one liked a dictator why didn't someone assaasinate him? Most North Korean citizens don't like Kim Jong Il , many people in a few other countries don't ike him either why doesn't someone or some group take him out of power?

Ok let me put it this way.
More people dislike Castro than do, and families would like to reunite with their loved ones, that they're not allowed too see. I realize we can't go rolling in with gun boats and put Hardrock Rock Casinos and Starbucks in there. Even if Cuba did not become a state it would be nice to see a leader that doesn't have a choke hold on his people, not that we're nice to Cuba ourselves. Like Jimdalf correctly stated we practicaly did almost own Cuba at one point. I threw the Airport idea in there because I don't know what any of you have heard about how fun it is going through a Cuba's Airport. Kinda like Nazi Germany. Cuba is the only Communist country in the Western Hemisphere. North Korea is a communist country that treats their people the same way as Cuba only the Koreans starve their people just a wee bit more.
I would like to see the people of Cuba live more happier lives than, the fact I would hopefully be able to someday be allowed to visit the place because I heard without all that crap it would be a wonderful place. And lastly, I just dont approve of a Communist Country 90 miles from the coast of the state I re-side in.
See, not one shred of Arrogannce....................
