If you like simulation games, you might like this game. If you like certain Final Fantasy features such as jobs, good storyline, deep characters, etc., you might like this game. If you like simulation games and the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles setting, you will definitely enjoy this game unless you just simply do not think that they should mix like some people think...
I consider WiiWare a low-risk R&D opportunity for large and small developers. That means we might see many different types of games portraying new and innovative ideas, and I like that. My Life as a King is something we may have never seen if we didn't have WiiWare (I mention WiiWare only because FFCC seems like it's Nintendo-exclusive at this point). It is definitely a unique game. I recommend it because it's not something that Square-Enix usually tosses at us.
Having played more, I will say that you are able to change the jobs of your adventurers which will help against certain monsters and in certain areas that you send them to (while I was speaking to one of them, she said that a black mage would have had a lot of fun in the area she was sent to). You can build a number of things like houses, big houses, bakeries, armor shops, weapon shops, item shops, game rooms for recruiting thieves, white mage temples, black mage academies, guilds for raising the limit on how many adventurers you can hire, and all kinds of other buildings.
