my only complaint is the gay sensor bar.If sony can do motion without a bar, why cant they find a way. If its somthing that cant be helped, at least make the sensor bar longer, becuse its way too small for most widescreen tvs.somtimes movement is limited becuse of that.

There's a key difference between Sixaxis and Wiimote that means the Wii needs a sensor bar. Both can handle 3D movement (roll, pitch, yaw), but the Sixaxis doesn't know where it is in relation to anything else. The Wiimote does. That's why you can move a cursor around on wii and go into and out of the screen, for example, and that's why you need the sensor bar.

Killens makes a great point. I don't ever see him stating that he said the 360 sucks. You guys are twisting his words around. The Wii is in a different league of it's own and is more of a party console.

i was pretty sure somone was going to try explain the motion sensing technology, which is why i made it a point to say " If its somthing that cant be helped, at least make the sensor bar longer" to save you the trouble.

Making the sensor bar longer would not fix the problem. The problem lies in the distance the Wii remote is from the sensor bar.
I mean, if you want to put the IR sensor clusters farther from each other, -- a longer sensor bar, in other words -- you are going to have to stand even farther back, which does not affect how much the sensor bar can take in, because it's proportional. Some numbers I got from a science forum (W is distance from cluster to cluster):
Minimum Distance (in.) = W / 0.222
Optimum Distance (in.) = W / 0.121
Maximum Distance (in.) = W / 0.083
The sensor bar that comes with the Wii has a distance of 8 inches from cluster to cluster. You'll find that as W gets larger, the optimum distance gets farther, so it won't matter.

Well, call me crazy, but that's what happens when you ask a question, even if you do forget to put a question mark in. Sorry for trying to educate you a little bit, next time I'll leave you to your ignorance.

well thats my whole point. A wider bar would place the Remote's guess of "center screen" longer in actual distance. Thatit would then allow greater accuracy, especially on bigger tvs, like for instance, my 61 inch tv, wich has more sensory issues than my 32" tv in my room. Also, distance from screen would alter allowing for more comfortable (further away) game-specific callibrations, like Zelda's callibration feature.

It has nothing to do with ignorance,as i know alll about how the wii mote works. i was just asking a rhetorical question from a general "see if theres a better way" point of view, and tried to keep the discussion simple without being an *** about it.
i already have some ideas i think may be better than a general sensor bar, but i dunno if i should post them, or copyright them first.(u never know)
